We really enjoyed our recent trip to the Saga centre. We wanted to learn more about the Icelandic Sagas and so we found the experience quite informative. The museum focused on Njall's Saga (one of the most famous sagas, which also happened to take place...More

Our guesthouse hostess recommended this museum because I was quizzing her about the history of the area and her family. We arrived 1/2 hour before closing so we got a discount and couldn't read every display thoroughly. However it was very interesting to see description...More

This museum is well done, and the staff are quite friendly. They currently have volunteers working on what will be the world's longest banner, depicting scenes from Iceland's history.

You start by dressing up in Viking outfits and taking pictures if you want (optional), which the kids enjoyed. Next, the dioramas were exciting for the kids as well.

Someone has taken great care in creating this exhibition. It was extremely interesting, though a lot of reading. The story is well worth it however! You get an overview of the history of the Vikings before Njall's saga begins. It's a brilliant saga, and the...More
