Based on other reviews, we had lost every hope and interest to enjoy a swim in a nice quiet environment. We went to see it anyway and felt so sad....what once must have been a lovely place for locals is now a dirty place threated...More

The Seljavallalaug pool is on a nice spot near the ring road, so it is easily accessible and only a short walk away. Unfortunately there are too many visitors, the pool was crowded and felt dirty.

We visited on a particularly cold and rainy day, and couldn't wait to hop in the hot water. However, the water was not hot, or even warm for that matter. The views are stunning, and the ten minute hike to the secluded pool was fairly...More

This is a photo stop along the south shore. It is beautiful and right next to a water falls. many people stop here to get that "perfect" picture of the water and colorful area.

Difficult to find. No clear markings or signs. Be patient. If you find your way a couple of kilometres off the Ring Road, make it to a parking area. Bring swim wear and a towel. It's a beautiful 20 minute hike through stunning peaceful countryside,...More

The hike was well worth it! My wife and I went after a long day of hiking, so it was nice to finally take a dip in the pool. After reading reviews, we were warned about the upkeep of the pool and we understand why...More

This pool was built in 1923 and is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland. The water is a nice ~ 32-34 degrees with "soft" natural water. It is cool to be in a concrete pool that has one side as a mountain! However, the bottom...More

Make no mistake, once you've parked at the end of the gravel track and walked a kilometre to this pool, the location is just breathtaking. But in early August, the last thing we wanted to do was go in the pool itself as it was...More

Ok so after going to Blue Lagoon and Secret Garden our group of 4 was looking for something a little more private and scenic to go along with our hot spring experience. This place is all about the timing. We came 4 times in 2...More

The drive in was almost impassable. If you're driving a small car like we were, be VERY careful. After you park, there's a 25 minute walk alongside a cold fast flowing river until you arrive st the pool. The walk is very beautiful and easy....More

I don't know where the campsite is, but the parking area to the hotspring is about 20-25 minute walk.

If you're concerned about road conditions, check Road.is online. They update it regularly and can give you a good idea of conditions. The secondary or F-Roads really change depending on the time of year.
