Overview
More
The Castello di Bracciano - a stone's throw from Rome - is one of the most impressive castles in Italy, Europe and the world. Completed in 1485 by the Orsini family, around an existing 12th century Vico fortress, it is one of the few renaissance castles in Italy that - thanks to the Odescalchi family - is open to the public. It also plays host to numerous weddings, galas and important cultural events throughout the year.

You will find out what it is like to go back 700 years. Castle is fully intact and spectacular views of town and the lake below. It's lively with tours and wedding receptions. It's a not miss if visiting Bracciano.

This is a stunning location (and only €6 return from Rome). The Castle looks amazing from the outside and is very intact and is like a fairytale castle perched on the edge of a mountain. Inside it is quite sparse but what is inside is...More

We spent an hour or so self guided around this lovely castle. If you're interested in ancient architecture and history you'll love the castle itself, views are amazing onto the lake.

Beautiful castel in a good shape, with interesting rooms and painting. It is connected with one of the most important family of Rome (Orsini), so it is full of history. It has a marvellous view of the entire lake of Bracciano, which makes it wonderful

Many of you may know this is the castle where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes were married many years ago. It's been the film set for many moves over the last 30 years. The first time I stayed in the Bracciano area I wasn't able...More

Wikipedia advised that this castle is 3 km, 2 miles, from Bracciano. Not the case. It is right in the town of Bracciano, maximum 10 minutes walk from the train station./ Nothing worse that reading inaccurate information when traveling. Unfortunately the 16th century fresco depicting...More

You can easily visit this castle from Rome. It is atop the hill in the town of Bracciano. There is a lot of history here, and the view across the lake and countryside from the castle is fantastic. The painted wood ceilings of the castle...More
