Great venue for jazz aficionados...

The Regattabar is one of the few jazz clubs in the area, and one that brings in pretty big names as well as new up-and-coming musicians. You do have to be careful about where you... read more

Am a semi-regular to jazz shows at Regattabar (get there 4-6 times a year). The space is pleasant enough, and they sometimes book marvelous musicians, but staffing is a constant problem. The wait staff usually comes by just once during an 80-90 minute show, and even then I often need wave to grab their attention. Takes away the pleasure of... More

It's been awhile since I attended a concert at the Regattabar, so the venue's decline struck me more than it might have otherwise. It took 45 minutes (!) into the performance for our drink order to be taken -- this on a night when there were many unoccupied seats. Also, people were talking continuously all around us; my repeated requests... More

Not only does the Regattabar have a history of not paying the talent in a timely manner, they understaff the venue so much that it's difficult to get service while seeing a show there. The Boston area has a ton of venues that treat their talent and staff better...go to one of them. Regattabar management needs to get it together.

The Regattabar is located in the heart of Cambridge's Harvard Square - not necessarily the easiest drive but parking exists aplenty in or around the Charles Hotel. This club provides a cool yet classy ambiance, smooth organization, and excellent selection/variety of musicians focused on the jazz/world genre. The 2 restaurants (and 1 bar/lounge) located in the same building offer the... More

I love the room. So much class looking out on the Square. Have been to many wonderful performance --jazz and world music, mostly. And even if it turns out that I don't love the band, being there is relaxing and fun,

The Regattabar is one of the few jazz clubs in the area, and one that brings in pretty big names as well as new up-and-coming musicians. You do have to be careful about where you sit, as there are some sight-line problems. But it's an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere, and the line-ups are usually quite good. I first went to... More

Really hate the layout and seating at this place. They do get great acts but I skip most shows there because of the seating problem. I have been to 3-4 shows there over the years and have only had a good seat once. See photo. The band is underneath the lights you can see in the ceiling. As another poster... More

I have been coming here since the 1980s. It is consistently Boston's best jazz room. For about the price of a movie-you can see the best that jazz has to offer in an intimate 120-ish person room. Sadly, management is booking less jazz here and using it more often as a private function room-so check the website ahead of time.... More
