This church does not have a facade but only an entrance in the middle of the central body.
Inside we find three large arches of limestone and trachytic stone. A nave with the neoclassical main altar houses the crucifix of the Black Christ.
The bizarre coloring is exclusively due to the aging of the work made with juniper wood. Someone, precisely because of that colour, had given it supernatural and miraculous qualities, and every time a calamity or drought struck, the statue was carried in procession with the inhabitants praying at its sides, with the hope that Christ Black solved problems.

Find it and go there.nice church to visit. Very moisty, but feels like going back in time, like in the ‘old’ maffia films :-)

We climed to the rock to find this church, that was attached to adjacent Monastery of Benedictines. Inside there are the „Black Crist” and the „Bust of Ecce Homo” and nice wooden altars. It’s worth a visit.

Not as impressive as the Cathedral San Antonio next door but if you visit one you may as well visit the other. The walk to the church and cathedral is as pleasant as the walk round them both via narrow cobbled streets.

A small church. Nice and cool, look out for services as local people and others do attend. I'm not religious but I donated and lite a candle in memory of relatives and it felt the right thing.

Small church dating back to the 12th century but modified in subsequent centuries; small, with a nave, obviously, given its antiquity, little decorated; it has a small and nice Altar, some Statues inserted in small recesses in the walls, an interesting secondary Altar and a beautiful Chapel with Altar, Statues and decorations.

Beautiful little church to visit absolutely.
Stands out the central and side altar located opposite the entrance
It is home to the brotherhood (hooded) who organize processions through the streets of the village in the week preceding Easter week.
