This is a collection of sites all well worth visiting. Check the calendar to see what is open/running and when. Plan to spend at least a day if you go in late June or July.

We had such a great visit to the Lowell National Historical Park this weekend. Although our children had been on field trips here, neither my husband and I had ever visited. So, we brought my visiting parents here. We parked in the parking near the...More

We visited last weekend on a rainy, cloudy day but it was the perfect solution to the dreary weather outside. First, we visited the visitors center and the ranger inside was extremely helpful in not only the history of the area but assisting in walking...More

We spent about 2 1/2 hours touring the mills with smiling, informative rangers at every turn. If you happen to be near this area, it is absolutely worth your time to stop and learn a piece of our American history.

Going to Lowell, you will learn a lot about industry in our developing country. The museum is well put together, demonstrations are clear, and the history of the town fascinating. I wish I would have had more time to read all the boards, but the...More

What a hidden gem! Free trolley to the cotton mills. This is a good example of a planned community. It reminds me of New Lanark in Scotland. A similar cotton mill is in Waltham, MA (Charles River Innovation). Go to both museums and you'll have...More

The film was informative, and the staff was super nice and knowledgeable. Most things to do were closed due to off season but we still got to see the Boot Mill looms, and it was still very worth the trip for this history teacher!

The entire site is well maintained with very knowledgeable and helpful stall. The information provided was clear and easily understood. As the weather was cold we didn't explore the entire site but will definitely return. The large free carpark is a bonus.
