This area is approximately 4-5 blocks, easy enough to walk up and down both sides. Filled with trendy shopping, second hand stores, boutiques and lots of great places to find a bite to eat.

Carytown is coming along way from the small mom-and-pop shop to a few chains here and there I prefer a little more substantial chains but I do like the mix of Mom and Pops.

We were not impressed. Many vacant shops. Not much variety. Parking is poor/hard to find. Overmarket ‘antiques;’ we found none.

We spent a few hours in Carytown. We loved the small shops and great restaurants. Everyone was so friendly! What a shock from what we are used to. There is something for everyone here.

Great for a day trip. There are all kinds of shops and restaurants from one end of Cary to the other. The area has lots of character because of so much of the original buildings have been repurposed into thriving businesses. An interesting historical area...More

This is a nice area to stroll down and to check out the vintage shops and ambiance. We walked down from The Fine Arts Museum to check out the shops.

The answers provided are correct. I don't think any restaraunts allow dogs in. But, some shops will allow them. I know there is a dog pet treat shop that you and your dog can shop at.
