In the City of Richmond, West Cary Street, from the Boulevard (2800) to Thompson Street (3600) is only about eight blocks long (just less than a mile). But, there, you will find the best shopping to be had in the Richmond area. The Carytown Merchants...More

There is plenty to see and do in Carytown. Just walking down the street you will find endless shops, restaurants, and bars. You can spend the whole day hanging out here. If you have a day and nothing planned, stop by and hang out and...More

I love the unique shops and restaurants in Carytown! The retails association works hard to try to not have any chain establishments come in. I was disappointed when an ice cream chain came recently. I won't support it, when Bev's frozen yogurt is right across...More

Carytown tries hard. And there are some small local businesses that are gems. We love that this area keeps developing and improving....it has come a long way in 20 years. It's fun to take visitors to the street here but there's really nothing special that...More

This area was highly recommended by many. There are lots of shops and restaurents for blocks and blocks, but found that the shopping and food was average. It seems like the businesses are struggling, and have marked up their prices. This isn't true for all;...More

Drove through Carytown from Short Pump shopping center (huge and upscale) to downtown hotel. Lots of nice shops and cafes. I want to go back and explore during a future trip.

Shopping, restaurants, people watching... Carytown has it all. It's a great place to go when the weather is nice. Plenty of good restaurants, and boutiques to keep you busy for hours.

This are is home to mostly small shops that have just about anything you could ever want. Nice small town feel and home to great restaurants like Mom's Siam, Double T's barbecue, and Basilis Greek.

Went shopping in Carytown. Shops were unique, and definitely had off the wall products for sale. Cute and fun to walk around, but otherwise not a must see.

The answers provided are correct. I don't think any restaraunts allow dogs in. But, some shops will allow them. I know there is a dog pet treat shop that you and your dog can shop at.

Many of the shops keep their own, non-standard hours. I am sure you can check online for a specific shop. But, if that isn't an option, I would stick to 10-5 for M-S and on Sunday, 12-5. For example, Ten Thousand... More
