Richmond can be proud of its Old Dominion capitol building and grounds. The capitol itself was designed by Thomas Jefferson and is a wonderful architectural specimen. A life-like statue of George Washington as well as busts of many famous Virginians bring the stories about these...More

This is a great tour. Lots of interesting and historical information, plus some film trivia (as many Hollywood films featuring the White House or US Capitol are filmed here). I've been on the tour 2 or 3 times. Good every time.

Beautiful building with free tours provided by historians. Our guide was Keenan. His knowledge and enthusiasm of the history building and area made the tour!

We were able to tour the building when they were not in legislative session. I can't imagine what it would be like to work in a museum.

The Virginia Capitol Building was truly a sight to see. George Washington, George Mason, Andrew Lewis, Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson and many more historic American leaders are on display and represented in a scenic masterpiece designed of the ancient Greeks.

I don't think you have to prearranged tours. They take place at various times throughout the day.
