Exhibits at the museum originate from all over the world and are top notch. From African masks to historic master pieces. Even the regular exhibits or Roman tiles or Old World Masters are worth seeing.

Vast and varied collections! Well kept with a satisfying restaurant. Tiffany collection is awesome, as is the Russian jeweled eggs. Special exhibitions are always a treat, both cultural and historical. Pieces are displayed in a well thought out floor plan.

The membership provides free entry into the exhibits. They get some of the best touring exhibits from Picasso to Chihuly. They also have live music and a wonderful restaurant upstairs and oh...did I mention the parking is free!!!

We live close to The Virginia Museum of Fine arts, and we enjoy going there a couple time a year. They have great rotating exhibits that come through. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Great member benefits as well.

Open I think every day of the year and free general admission. There is a charge for Special Exhibits. They have everything, including a large Faberge Eggs and other Romanoff items. Arts and Flowers annually is also not to be missed.

My family loves museums. The Met, The Chicago Art Museum, The Tate, The V and A, and on... This is right up there. Went to see the Masks of the Congo, not an exhibit I would normally drawn to. Fantastic. Interesting content with informative commentary....More

The museum is impressive, particularly considering the location. The permanent collections are extensive and high quality, thanks mostly to wealthy benefactors gifting their collections.

Not sure about the open time. It should be posted on the web site. We had tickets during the week when they were not busy and they allowed us to go in early.

We were able to enter the exhibit 30 minutes before our set time so I doubt I would be a problem.

I would give it at least an hour. If you have a particular interest in the other items, such as the gold and other jewelry, household furnishing, etc., plan on longer.
