A national and state historic landmark, this performing arts center was originally opened in 1928 as an elegant and lavishly designed Loews movie palace and has since been restored to its former splendor. Performances run the gamut from opera, symphony and concerts to comedy, song, children's entertainment and family shows.

Lots of great shows at an historic venue in Richmond. Beautifully restored, good view of the stage from most seats in the house. They now have parking available at the Commonwealth parking garage on event nights. Definitely take advantage.

I go to the Virginia Opera performances there and find the experience quite enjoyable. The acoustics are good and the libretto is easy to read from where we sit . A nice venue. Take a jacket or sweater, though, because sometimes they get the air...More

Went for a TEDxRVA event this time. 9am-5pm a long time but still very enjoyable. We have been here for plays, for the opera, for the symphony, etc. A great old theatre.
