Beautiful and Historical

I have been there several times and it is extremely beautiful. The grounds are kept up nicely and very easy to drive or walk if you so choose. There is also a lot of history there.

A stop at Hollywood Cemetery is a must for a history buff. My husband could have spent a lot longer wandering through this cemetery if it wasn't such a cold and breezy morning. We navigated to presidents' circle and also took in views of the James River before getting back in the car to warm up.

Cemetery is a HUGE! We drove it and got lost for a decent amount of time but did not mind as it is absolutely beautiful and full of CSA heroes. The pyramid is a sight to see by itself but there are amazing views throughout. Definitely worth a day to explore.

If you enjoy visiting cemeteries, you will probably enjoy this one. It has the large historical monuments, the statues, decorative stones, and mausoleums; one built into the side of a hill. And mentioning hills, the whole cemetery is on rolling hills. I visited in late December, so it was pretty gray but well worth an hour if you have it.

Hollywood is a great historic cemetery that offers the best views of the James River and the city of Richmond. A must see.

I love this place! Fun to look at the tombstones and epitaphs. Beautiful layout, trees, flowers and really cool mosuleums. A lot of history. Great for a walk. Peaceful, great place to read, walk, or just to sit and enjoy a nice day by yourself or with a significant other. In a weird way this place is kind of romantic... More

Took the father-in-law and his wife to the cemetery on Christmas Day to walk around. Wanted to show them John Tyler's tomb but it was being restored off-site. We enjoyed the view of the James River, the Mausoleum and the drive around Davis Circle. Nice place to walk around as the views are good.

My daughter is a recent transplant to Richmond. We were driving around the city, not sure of how to find our way, when we stumbled upon Hollywood Cemetery. I recognized the name as a famous historic cemetery, and suggested we go in. Much to my surprise, we spent a couple of hours! It was interesting, even fascinating, as well as... More

This is a very humbling and interesting place to visit. Lots of history here and excellent view of the James River and city lights. Great place for a field trip of older kids and very convenient to other area attractions.

Good place to drive or walk through. Lots of historically famous people buried here, not just Civil War era, and several cool monuments.

Thank Father02
