This stadium is on the older side, but if you’re going for good baseball and entertainment it’s a good place to see a game. Unlike many of the minor league ballparks, there aren’t activities at the stadium for kids, such as bounce houses or games. In between innings, they do their best to keep people entertained with activities on the field. They have a lot of different promotions including fireworks on many weekends. There’s an $8 charge for parking, and getting in and out of the lots can take some time because they get many thousands of people on a given night (capacity is close to 10,000). With that being said, the parking lots are well staffed and they direct traffic as quickly as they can. This is a cashless venue; everything is paid for w/a credit or debit card. They actually have a pretty decent variety of choices food and drink wise. There’s the normal ballpark food, but they also have some salads and sandwiches. If you’re looking for shade during a day game, sit on the first base side up higher away from the field. Getting player autographs isn’t as easy here as other minor league parks. The players don’t have to walk out to get to the clubhouse, so if you’re an autograph hunter, before the game you’ll have to go along the first base side for the home team and third base for visitors. A few of the players might do autographs after the game, but it seemed like more were willing pregame. My understanding is the city is building a new venue that will be open in a couple of years.

Went to see a friend pitch against the Flying Squirrels!! Rainy and cool for a July night but still a great AA baseball atmosphere. We found super close parking space for 5 bucks. Ticket sales looked like they were going smoothly but we were able to get player tickets at will call. Nice views from anywhere in the stadium. Lots of non game related entertainment throughout the game. Concessions were fast and they had great Hot Dogs!! Reasonably price surprisingly for professional baseball!! The Diamond if you visit will remind you of some of the old days of baseball. I will say it's a great place to catch a game!!

Cute stadium. Needs a little updating but basiclly clean and family friendly. The baseball field is beautifully kept. Good ball field eats, but just like everthing else a little pricey for hotdogs and fries. Hopefully they use that money and put in back into the staduim

We are visiting family in Richmond from Alabama. My husband is season ticket holder for our local AA so we thought we’d check these guys out. They did not play well at first but made some good attempts late in the game and managed not to lose too badly. Fireworks tonight too!
We sat on the 1st base line, 2nd tier. Be sure to get a left end seat otherwise your view will be blocked from people entering and leaving the seating area. Or sit higher.
There are plenty of ushers to assist you to locate your seat. And they make sure people move along and not congregate in the tunnels.
In stand vendors are working making sure ice cold beer and water available, popcorn, flavored snow ones, peanuts and cotton candy as well.
We enjoyed the in game entertainment with guests participation as well.
Mother Nature provided the BEST climate. Temperature couldn’t have been more perfect. Game start 81, when we left it was in the mid 70’s.
Concession prices are reasonable as well.

Stopped by the Diamond during the off season to see the park and buy some items.
The park is showing its age, built in the 80s, and it’s not hard to see why a new park is needed.
Still, staff welcomed us, made some money and allowed us to take pictures inside the stadium.
Would definitely attend a game here.

When it opened it was state of the art, now it just is old and tired. City administration has dragged it heals on replacing the ballfield and caused us to lose one team, All they do is talk about a new ballfield. Hope we don’t lose the current team. Other than that, going to watch AA ball is a lot of fun.

I went with my cousin planning to catch up during the game. The game ended up being more thrilling than expected so that was a bonus, plus they had fireworks at the end! I also eat gluten free and was pleased to find options for both food and drink.
I had a cider that they had on tap, had some Mediterranean food (falafel without pita, served as a salad) and candied nuts for dessert. Very tasty! The only drawback was that we sat right behind 1st base and there was a speaker behind us so when the announcer spoke (which was very often) we had to take a break from talking because you couldn't hear a thing.

$14 per ticket for second row seats and the front row people didn't show up. Great place to watch a game. I just wish the Squirrels won more. I like this stadium a lot. Parking isn't too bad. It can take a long time to get out so I would recommend parking by the exit or leaving a little early to beat the crowd.

I have never been a live baseball game! Neither has my 3 yr old. We received free tickets from a friend and it was awesome! Small and intimate area. You can see everything from anywhere. My son got the 8 bit shirt, we had pretzels, and blue slushies. It was a great time. We left early because it was so hot but I would like to return sometime. I definitely enjoyed myself very much!! What a great opportunity for a Sunday afternoon family event!!

The Flying Squirrels and The Diamond are an institution in RVA. it will be nice to get a replacement ballpark someday, but you can't blame the Diamond folks and Parnie if you don't have a great time!
