We're in the area on a college tour, and decided to stop by since we'd heard the river was beautiful. The path is nice, and there are tons of families, college students, and people with dogs all along the path. Plenty of places to sit...More

Has flush toilets/ public restrooms. Sometimes they're flooded or have no TP but the other parks have portopotties. Can climb out on the rocks and swim or sun, also seen people fishing. Heard about some car vandalism/break ins.

We found this by chance while just driving around and following some signs out of curiosity. Lots of people swimming and kayaking and just hanging out by the water. Great views.

Located along the James river, it is a beautiful walk. This lengthy stretch of green can take you far away and back again over mostly flat, safe, wide walking surfaces. Might not be great for the adventurous, it fits the bill for families of all...More

Pony Pasture is quintessential Richmond- enjoy the river, laze about on the rocks, walk the trails, bring a picnic, throw sticks to your dog, canoe, kayak, or just sit and watch the river. Parking is at a premium on weekends, especially the first time there...More

The site links lowland march and the James River. Whether you bird or not it is a great walk for river views. It links The Wetlands with it marsh blinds but I would not call it a loop. It does have a variety of different...More

One or two near the parking lot. Nothing fancy. For pic nic, especially with children I recommend Belle Isle.
