They did a good Job with this park and it is so awesome to see the beautiful Capitol. The park is not very big and you will make in a short period of time

We walked to see all the sculptures surrounding the capital and were pleased with them all. What great works these are for the public.

If you are looking for a peaceful place to walk then I suggest you visit the grounds of the Va. state Capitol. The gardens and statues are absolutely beautiful and so peaceful.

We came to Richmond for a NASCAR race as part of a road trip from the UK. To be honest we knew little about Richmond beforehand and once there went for a drive and found this. We were very impressed with this area. There was just the two of us here on a Sunday morning so it was peaceful and... More

I almost daily walk through over lunch enjoying the views, shade, and even some local birds that call it home! Beyond the *many* historical monuments, Capitol Building, Governor's Mansion, and other historic buildings, it's also a major spot to play Pokemon Go!!!! Lots of poke stops and varieties of pokemon. At night many locals drop lures too!

This little park is along the N 9th St. side of the Capitol Building. It runs between the formal entry to the Capitol down to Bank St. There are park benches and plenty of shade. You can set and listen to the bells from the bell tower that chime hourly that were initial used to summon the delegates. Feed the... More

It won't take you a great deal of time to feel like you've absorbed the essence of this place. Even if you do an official tour, it doesn't take very long. You can more than cover it in an hour or two. If the weather is nice, this makes a really excellent picnic spot. Definitely worth a stop though, especially... More

In one location, visitors can tour the capitol [daytime week day hours] situated amongst the fringes of commercial area--an alcove of tranquility and nature. But the enormous statue of George Washington is a visible reminder that Virginia's history goes back even before the founder fathers ... back to the earliest settlements in the Americas. Tributes to Edgar Allen Poe and... More

This is a history lesson full of art and culture. Start out at the bell tower, where sweet lady gives out maps and information to the area. Next take the capital tour, freeeee. Then the governors mansion tour, free! That is all right there.
