The library of VA is a treasure cornucopia for those interested in history. There is free parking underneath the facility. All one has to do is have is take the ticket when entering the parking lot, have it stamped at desk, and returned to attendant when leaving. Unfortunately, the state is having cutbacks on the funding. It results in shortening... More

We spent an entire day researching genealogy in this massive modern facility, and the resources and staff were fantastic! It is under-advertised; entry is free; and we are glad we found out about it in our research. Reference works can be viewed within the site, and there are very comfortable and technology-equipped workstations. There is a snack bar downstairs, and... More

They have a very nice little eatery (that closes at 4 PM); my wife and I got sandwiches that were freshly made and of excellent quality for a good price. The library itself is huge and laid out very... More

Lovely place to go, even for just a visit. Gift shop is supplied with many unsual items from the state of Virginia. Research department is excellent. There is even an "old and rare book" section that staff will make available to researchers. In the area doing research, don't miss this place!

Love this Library! It has a lot to offer anyone who has different interests. Everything is at your fingertips. A great place for learning something new. So, if you want to continue to learn, this is the place for you. For research, it's the place to go. While browsing on a computer or reading a book on your Nook is... More
