Description:

Antonelli San Marco is an organic wine and farming estate located centrally within Montefalco's DOCG winemaking area in Umbria. With a background rich in history, the Antonelli family is passionately committed to caring for their territory and dedicated to producing quality wines and extra virgin olive oil. And of late emmer wheat products, chickpeas and cured pork cuts made from their

free-range pigs.

Our wine-tourism extends to include apartment hospitality in the old restored farmhouse - "Casale Satriano" and nature walks through our beautiful 40 hectares of woods.

In 2009 “Cucina in Cantina” was launched - a taste education programme specialising in wine tasting and cellar visits, cooking lessons, wine-pairing lunches and dinners open by reservation only.

Winery visit & Tasting Programme

Experience the taste of authentic Umbrian home cooking paired with the right wine.

4 - course lunches/dinners with typical products

Seasonal menu of Umbrian antipasto, pasta, meat, vegetable dishes and dessert. € 37,00.

3 - course lunches/dinners with typical products

Cooking school

“Cucina in Cantina” is about Umbrian home-cooking. A hands-on approach is favoured in the kitchen where the atmosphere is friendly and serene. All the recipes are exquisite and simple to make. After the cooking, a convivial lunch or dinner is served with Antonelli wines.

Choose from a one-day lesson at € 120,00 or from one of the 3-hour lessons at € 80,00.

A team of “casalinga” home cooks, namely Teresa and Leonella are coordinated by Home Economist Wendy Aulsebrook who will direct your attention to particular aspects of preparations.

Reknown for our excellent food & wine and professional service we look forward to your visit!

I've been working as a guide for over 20 years taking american groups all over Europe. I've assisted at many cooking lessons in Italy and elsewhere in Europe, including renowned chef, even Michelin starred. Well the atmosphere, the dedication, professionalism, enthusiasm of Wendy topped them all. No comparison.

We were three couples who enjoyed a 1 hour truffle hunt on the premises of Antonelli's followed by a very interesting and productive cooking class. Since the dogs had found us 3 pounds of black truffles (we were lucky) our group was combined with two Skandinavian couples for an intense 3-hour hands-on cooking class during which we learned from Australian... I really enjoy food experiences when I travel so I decided to do a cooking class at Cucina in Cantina cooking school at Antonelli Winery. My friends, who live in Italy, came along too. We had a wonderful time. Wendy is a fabulous teacher who explains things clearly with much passion for adopted home. The food was made all the... More

I have had the distinct pleasure of visiting Antonelli twice over the past 2 years. During my first visit, my boyfriend and I stumbled across this gem during a rainy day drive thru the countryside with no particular destination in mind. Something told us to pull into the parking lot and we spent the next 3 hours with Wend, being... More

We were fortunate to have made reservations to visit the Antonelli Winery. Much to our delight, we were given a tour of the production area and cellars by an Antonelli family member ( I believe it was the grandson or great grandson). He was informative and very pleasant as we sat and sampled 4 of their wines. There are so... More

However good the wines may be, the customer service is horrible. I emailed Antonelli three times to try to reserve a wine tasting event and never received a reply. However, when I emailed several other wineries, including Caprai, Bea and Lungarotti, I received instant responses. In the past I have received gracious and impeccable customer service including reasonable responses from... More

Dear Tiggy, we're really sorry for this, please excuse us. I've tried looking for the three emails you're referring to, but I've found just one that maybe is yours, and I must admit we didn't reply to that email. That email we received during the morning asking to book for a visit the same day. We're three people checking that... More

Antonelli has gained a reputation as a good winemaker, rightly so- however it meant the tasting experiences was crowded and unpersonalised. The guide seemed very tired, I felt for him- he was giving 3 groups wine tastings simultaneously! You tasted about 9 wines, their whole range, However I felt it was an unauthentic experience now because of the large number of... More

We popped into Antonelli to see what the winery experience was like and taste some wines. It was raining so we did not do the vineyard tour but spent a delightful hour in tasting a range of wines with our most informative and friendly host. He was passionate about wine and very able to communicate this passion with us in... More

We came to Umbria to taste wine and Antonelli in Montefalco was wonderful! Marco poured 10 different wines! We tried their new dried meats and olive oil. We did not have a reservation. We just came in and they served us no charge! No tour. Wonderful wine! Wonderful memories!

The property is beautiful and the lunch with wine pairings was perfect. We sat at a table with a couple that had taken cooking classes from the Chef. The wines were paired well and would highly recommend the trip for people who are foodies and winos :)
