- Erin S4 contributionsGreat beach club but smokeyReally lovely beach club with stunning views and good vibes. The service is excellent and waiting staff lovely. VIP beds are worth it. The main problem is that we were surrounded by people constantly smoking. Not enjoyable at all when you are non-smokers and trying to enjoy your lunch. It would be much more pleasant if there was a designated smoking area because this ruined it a little for us. This wouldn’t put me off returning though.thank you for this nice reviewWritten May 24, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten October 7, 2023
- Nemanja JovicIsland of Malta, Malta22 contributions⭐Best in Malta⭐🍹 I was with my friends at Cafe Del Mar. Such a wonderful view of the open see. Such a good personal. Waitress, bartenders, security. Everything was so nice, tasty. When we heard that at night they have a pool party we had to go. We had cocktails and MOET. Such a nice glasses for picture it. Everything was PERFECT. 🍹thank you for this nice reviewWritten May 24, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited October 2023Travelled with friendsWritten October 11, 2023
- BlueNassau59 contributionsBuzzkill beach clubNot going back. Great views but that doesn’t compensate for sloppy systems, under-resourced management, confused reservations and little value for the money. And the pool was so cold. Traffic to get there. IF one can get the right sunbeds (see “confused reservations”), then one may not be jostled as much or drowned out by noise (even in the VIP area). Food came quickly. Supposedly their Sunday evening party is fun but we didn’t stay long enough (left by 5). I would try a different beach-day approach next time.thank you for the nice reviewWritten May 24, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten May 14, 2024
- katkeeleyPeterborough, United Kingdom60 contributionsBeautifulWe went for a family evening meal and to watch the sunset over the sea. Prior to our visit I requested a table closest to the sea, which they acknowledged. It's a beautiful setting with some of the most delicious food I've tasted. The service was good and waiters friendly, there was some confusion with our drinks which was rectified efficiently. I'd been saving myself for the lobster, but unfortunately they didn't have any on this day, these things happen and overall the service and food couldn't be better! - James HLondon, United Kingdom4 contributionsIts good and bad!The view is fantastic, the beds are comfy. it’s clean, drinks are tasty, food is delicious, no kids in main pool music is chilled these are all the plusses. what I hate the most is that you cant bring your own water and fill it up there, its a basic human right and they make you pay for water its Malta and the company being greedy. Staff friendliness is clearly fake as well. 2 luxury beds, 2 cocktails, 3 cokes, 3 lunches and 4 bottles of water came to about €400.thank you for sharing your opinionWritten July 25, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Travelled with friendsWritten July 10, 2024
- Emily B30 contributionsGood food, music too loud!We went to Cafe del mar for an evening meal. We could not fault the food and really enjoyed it but unfortunately our meal was tainted by the exceptionally loud music blaring throughout. I understand this is a beach club but it would be great if there was a quieter section for customers who just want to enjoy a relaxing meal. We were gutted as the food was so good but we wouldn't return due to the music.thank you for sharing your opinionWritten July 25, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 12, 2024
- SeamusBelfastBelfast, United Kingdom177 contributionsGood location and decent food and cocktailsThe location on the coast beside the aquarium is stunning. We booked the luxury cabana beds €150 which is expensive but it was a treat. Food was very good and the selection of drinks and cocktails was impressive. The pool was cold which helped on such a warm day and got a bit boisterous in the later afternoon with people drunk and smoking in the pool. Staff were friendly and you could call them to the beds for service. The ordinary beds looked very crammed in though. It can be expensive but all Cafe Del Mar’s are.thank you for sharing your opinionWritten July 25, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Travelled with familyWritten July 12, 2024
- Jackie P56 contributionsSo don't rate this place. it's laughable compared to O Beach IbizaSo don't rate this place!!! We visited here Sunday 7th July paid 35 euros for a sun bed under bloody cover!!!! If you think this is going to be an amazing pool party we'll don't you are better off staying round your hotel pool and paying the 15 euros for the CDM party at the evening which you get a drinks token for when u arrive also. In the day, there is just no atmosphere at all bit of music, that's it. Drinks expensive food was nice in resturant. Evening didn't get much better. Fireworks last for 5 mins max. Would not recommend this place one bit. Fair enough of u r staying somewhere with no pool, but if u r stay around, the one you have.Thank you for sharing your opinionWritten July 25, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten July 19, 2024
- npwalker85 contributionsOne of very few beach clubs in Malta with stunning viewCame here in August for a day with two teenage boys. Stunning view over looking the sea and St Paul’s monument. Took a VIP bed. Plenty of shade and easy ordering service to the beds. Made use of phone charging facilities. Had a super lunch in the restaurant (you can eat sushi at the vip beds only). Great sushi but also mainstream menu. Drinks excellent. Music not too intense. Pool shuts at 7, although stayed on beds for sunset. Great place for a different and chilled day out. - MaddyUnited Kingdom19 contributionsGood food but a bit disorganisedThe food was very declious and was definitely worth the price. However, there were a lot of people walking around and taking photos with the sunset which didn’t bother us really but if you like a calmer atmosphere then this isn’t necessarily for you. The view was very pretty and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Be warned that if you book at 7pm and arrive early, you will not have a valid place to wait as the restaurant opens at 7pm. Again, don’t book at 7pm as they take atleast 10 minutes before letting anyone in. Overall, a nice experience but may need a slight bit more organisation.Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you visited our beach club, but we’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. We came here for our anniversary today which wasn’t acknowledged at all even though I’d emailed and told them that was why we were coming no special touches which was a shame as I thought this would be a nice place and had high hopes, we had booked a luxury bed by the pool! Wen we arrived we were asked by a blonde young boy who looked around 18 our name in a stroppy teenage manner not very professional, he then seemed annoyed that my husband wanted to use the loo before we could be taken to our sunbed as we’d just taken an Uber for 30 mins to get there….. after only a few seconds he stormed off in a strip and another much politer gentleman took us to our sunbed! I asked if we could have a bed closest to the steps but was told no as someone else had booked that one even tho all the luxury beds where empty so we was sat on the bed where the luxury beds start and the regular beds end! I’m not a snob in anyway shape or form but there was nothing luxury about this as people can just walk into your section and sit in front of ur bed right by the pool or in the pool which wasn’t nice! The bed advertised as luxury was extremely low to the ground and the side tables wobble! The bed was ripped and the umbrella kept sliding down so you have to keep getting up to adjust it! Not really something you expect when you pay €120…. We did point the ripped bed out to the staff and was told they will come and change it! We waited 20 minutes for this to happen no sorry or offer to move us! The service for the drinks was slow even tho you have a button to press if you want something!
We decided that we wanted to dine inside the restaurant in the afternoon as the pool menu is very limited! The restaurant was busy but the service was much quicker and the food was actually lovely! Waiters and waitresses inside the restaurant were very polite and helpful the Asian guy who looked after us was great and when and got my card from the pool bar so I could pay in the restaurant.
Unfortunately after we came back to our sunbed there was a group of men in the pool right at the foot of our beds who didn’t even move wen we sat back down which was so off putting so we decided to leave! We spent around €100 for food and drinks plus €120 for the luxury bed so quite expensive for only 4 hours…
If you will take some polite advise Cafe del mar, you should rope off the luxury bed areas so they feel a bit more exclusive for people who are paying more, also asking other people not to sit or stand in the pool so close to those beds so the people who are paying for them can enjoy some privacy!

We went for dinner as it was just next to the aquarium and we stumbled across it. At first we were unsure if we may get a table with our toddler but the service was very friendly and said it isn't a problem. After feeding our 18 month old some bread which service brought very quickly he fell asleep to the soft loungemusic and we could enjoy a fantastic dinner with cocktail with an amazing sunset. The menue to choose from is superb and the cocktail as well.
We know cafe del mar from ibiza but this in Malta is better in my opinion from the quality of food menu selection and attentiveness of staff
We will clearly be back when we visit Malta again and next time with the pool experience in the afternoon.

While this is a beautiful place (as one would have expected it, having visited Cafe del Mar in other countries), the service is very sub-optimum and seems to favor locals over tourists. Despite booking the lunch the day before, I had to wait for 55 minutes and remind the waiters twice before the food was served. Then, when I left for one hour to see the aquarium, even though I left my personal towel on the bed as instructed by the waiter, I came back to see my bed occupied by 4 drunk nen who were very rude to me. As I was told later, they were locals. The manager did his best to accommodate me, but frankly, the day left a bitter taste, and I will definitely not come back. Also, there seem to be security guys walking around, but they obviously did nothing to protect the reserved bed...

We arrived for dinner without reservation. The summer was ending and that day was rainy, the place was almost empty. It has some pools, and in general the place is very sofisticated and elegant. The menu has a little bit of everything, pasta, burguer, salads but we go for the Japanese offer. The have the typical sashimi and sushi combos, with some special sushi rolls. We took the como that you can choose some california rolls, so we have the spicy tuna and red sunset ones. Everything was good, the fish was very fresh and tasty. To drink we order the dragon fruit margarita but it was a little bit disappointing. We paid 54 euros, a little bit expensive for the food but according to the place. I think it's a must to visit in Malta.

Very disappointed by the fact that I had to pay 130 euros for a gazebo, and they advise for me to arrive by 10:30 but they placed me and my friends very far away from the pool. When you book such an expensive thing you expect to be seated in the best place, but the bar gives the best places for those who arrive after 10:30… so what is the point of paying so much? We hardly used the gazebo in the end. Was far away from the bar and she pool. A positive point is that we had lunch in their restaurant and the pasta was amazing! Staff was also friendly.

Can’t fault the cleanliness of the place and the service. However can help feeling that I am being ripped off prices of food and drinks are 50% more than anywhere else I have been. A great tip would be to offer water as an inclusive price to your sunned. Show you care for the customer not just wanting their money

We originally went only for drinks but when asked the staff told us that dinner was also served after 7pm. A simple but varied menu was offered with great food and possibly one of the best sunset views in Malta. What really stood out was the service of our host, Strahinja, who went above and beyond making our experience a great one.
Great food, incredible view and impeccable service. We couldn't have chosen any better as our first restaurant outing since March. I don't normally leave reviews on TA but this one is well deserved.

Alright so, it was kind of a long evening. I went to the party with my girlfriend (we are a wlw couple) and immeditely the vibes were pretty off, though the staff and place were not to blame, rather the guests. All the attendees were italian just like us, I'd say probably around 85% males.
The music was pretty bad for basically half the time we stayed there, until 12.30 am. Very limited lockers so basically no chance for even half the people there to store bags or clothing for the pool party (mind you, there is no other place to put your belongings besides lockers and empty sunbeds, which will be occupied by other people as soon as you leave so be careful).
First about the guests: The first hour or so is pretty chill, I'd say most people are just there to drink or to take pictures, so be prepared for worse if you're not into that and you actually go for the party.
Things escalated pretty quickly as soon as more people got in and started drinking: so much harassment, all witnessed by crowd control guards who do absolutely nothing if 4 guys just straight up pull up to two girls asking if they want to try having the nasty with them and will "absolutely not take a no for an answer". There was verbal harassment, lots and lots of s3xual requests, groping, following.
What crowd control does though is stop girls if they try to get into one of the pools with a sheer swimsuit mini skirt cover on. They, in fact, stopped both of us for this very reason (again, mind that guys get into the pools with pants and shorts) and when asked the reason they just reply that "those are the rules and they don't make them". In the very same pool at the same time, the same group of guys that harassed us the whole time brought and straight up did drûgs in front of the guards. (besides pouring two bottles of alcohol directly into it)
Now, I read the entirety of the terms and conditions, and there was no rule against swimsuit covers or dresscode, there was however a rule against drugs. Where did that one go?
The music got better around 11pm, just your standard disco songs remixes and nothing spectacular.
A 30 euros ticket does not get you any kind of discount or drink, just the entrance. A bottle of water costs 2.80€, a drink costs 4.50€. That I think says more than enough about the goal of the party.
Good thing is that the pool really is very cool and the idea is nice. (even if you're probably going to use it like twice the whole night because it's pretty cold and windy) Maybe some better music would greatly improve the experience, but what I'm sure of is that the people at this party are absolutely, irrevocably horrible. Especially if you're a girl. Don't ever go alone if you're a girl (guys will also offer you drinks: CAREFUL) and be careful on the outside going back home. 30 euros is not worth risking one's safety like this and not even be able to enjoy it.

Hi, I just have to write a review of this place with a very special mention to the staff especially Nebojsa. I'll start by saying i've visited Malta three times this year already and every single time I've had to attend cafe del mar numerous times during my stays.
When arriving to the entrance I'm greeted with nothing but smiles and polite hellos and welcomes (and welcome backs now :D). Then from there I'm escorted right through the restaurant which by the way is delicious ( especially the sushi) to the table I have reserved near the infinity pool.
You are then greeted with absolutely stunning views of Malta, that are unmatched in beauty there very easy to get lost in. Once on my table I was swiftly greeted by Nebosja who served me and my friends that evening. He was on hand for everything we could have possibly needed, he organised our drinks extremely fast, ordered our food at the same time and Made us feel at home right away.
His service was extremely fast, attentive and efficient down to the fact he didn't let one thing run out. If we needed limes for the gin before they where half way finished he was already replacing them as well as topping up the drinks and making sure all of our food was served to perfection in fine timing.
I am extremely well travelled individual as my work takes me all over the world and I can hands down say that this place is one of the best restaurant / beach bars I've ever been to. The value for money in addition to the service I received with the presentation displayed is second to none I will one hundred percent be attending cafe del mar every single time I'm in Malta simply because of the staff and atmosphere I experienced.
I would also like to mention Jordan the manager and elizer the bartender too as they were also helpful however my special thanks has to go to Nebosja for treating us like kings! Many thanks to everyone in this place and I'm sure ill be back again soon.

Hi, I am thinking of spending a full afternoon/evening at cafe do mar and I’m looking for suggestions on how and what to book? We are two people. For example, should we book a sunbed, then book the restaurant, then book a sofa for drinks (3 bookings) or can you eat the restaurant food at the sofa? A bit confused and there are no details on the website. Also any recommendations on what day to go or anything I should know? TIA
