If you are passing Sighet, it's a must place. The small museum gives you an idea of the Jews life and community in Maramuresh before the Holocaust. And of Ellis Wiesel life.

I learned a lot. This is a small, but well done museum. It shows the jewish history of the area. There are docents to answer all questions you might have.

The Eli Wiesel house is of such importance---Maramures had a significant Jewish population before WWII, but sadly no longer. The museum provides important history on Jewish life before the War and information how the Jewish population was targeted and deported; these are lessons which must...More

Elie Wiesel died a few weeks before we got to visit his home. It felt like an honor to walk among these walls.
