The Eastern California Museum has been a regular stop for me over the years, and I still enjoy visiting. Lots of wonderful historic photos, exhibits of local Paiute and Shoshone baskets and other items, and quite a few other things to see. Of particular note...More

This little museum has one of the most impressive collections of Paiute and Shoshone baskets and artifacts. Other tribes are represented as well, and for this collection alone, it's worth the visit, however, there are several other good exhibits of local celebrities - writers, naturalists,...More

This museum has a wide variety of historical artifacts, including : baskets, gems, newspaper articles, photos, etc. I left feeling like I was more informed regarding the history of the Owens Valley.

This museum has SO much to offer! It's much bigger than I thought it would be and Heather was a wealth of information, enthusiasm and excitement. We're looking forward to going back!

Small but very good museum. Best exhibits were on Manzanar (Japanese internment camp), on the Owens valley water project, on the native Americans in area, and on early climbers in area. Well worth a stop and air-conditioned!
