Great place for a relaxing day outside

We came with 3 kids (ages 1, 4 and 7) and all were entertained. They loved seeing the animals and just being outside.

Although we spent most of the day at the farm I would return another day because we enjoyed it so much. It was a rainy day and not a very busy so we were not competing with many visitors during the tours. The guides and staff here were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable. I feel certain they would be the same... More

Billings Farm & Museum was a highlight of our trip and is one of the best things to do in Woodstock, VT. It is an operating dairy farm with an amazing must see museum. Activities include a visit to see Jersey cows up close, baby chicks, draft horses, sheep, and of course, the Billings Museum that blew us away!

While on the surface, this attraction seems to be about kids and animals in reality it is much more. An excellent and highly recommended video is well worth the 30 minutes investment. Thanks to the staff member who strongly encouraged us to watch it. Yes, this is a farm and there are animals and interesting exhibits, but for me the... More

This is an excellent farming museum that features every implement and tool that was used in the past. It is all housed in a beautiful building. You can also tour the dairy and see milking in progress. There is a farm house there, but it wasn't opened when we visited. This is a great family museum, interesting and educ ational.

The grounds, museum and stables began opening in April for first time this year. Guides were very informative. Farmhouse built in late 1800's very interesting and showed state of the art functionality for that period of time. Museum at entrance of facility should be visited first to get understanding of the farms evolution and importance to area.

We visited the Farm and Museum as part of a tour and found the exhibits fascinating. Being October the pumpkins in all their varieties and shapes displayed on a long table were a sight to behold. There was much to see in the exhibits of old and historical farm implements, including a demonstration of cooking a local stew in an... More

My grown son and sister and I visited on an overcast day this past Sat. we had an amazing time. Saw sheep shearing, border collies herding sheep, toured the farm house saw lots of animals, and really enjoyed seeing the creamery in the basement of the farm house. A lovely morning spent with my family at this great place!

It was a surprise that admission was free for guests staying at the Woodstock Inn, this made it even better. Fun to see a variety of animals up close. Not crowded this time of the year.

My18 years old son, and i loved the movie, and the museum, but we both found it very upsetting that the animals looked very mistreated. The cows had chains around their neck very tightly to the pool being force to lay down. Not enough room for them to lay down , and their behind was almost off the cliff. This... More

Gwynne: We're pleased that you enjoyed our film and museum exhibits but extremely concerned with your comments about our dairy herd. For about seven months each year, cows that are being milked graze in the pasture for 12 hours a day. When inside, they are restrained, which prevents them from wandering through the barns and potentially hurting themselves, other cows,... More
