Overview
More
Margaret Mitchell's one and only novel, "Gone with the Wind," was born in an apartment in this turn-of-the-century Tudor Revival mansion. Now a museum on the National Register of Historic Places, the house offers visitors a tour that tells the story of the author, the Pulitzer Prize-winning book and the making of the movie.

While houses of history can be boring, the guide to this one made the trip worth while. She was excited to share this history of Margaret Mitchell and Atlanta. So glad we stopped!

So interesting! I would have expected Margaret Mitchell to have lived in greater luxury. Instead, she contributed her wealth toward a better future for others less fortunate than she. Impressive. A hopeful and encouraging example to emulate!

This is not worth $13. Not even close. The guided tour was awful. The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, but instead of sharing her extensive knowledge by talking about the author, apartment, etc., she kept asking if people had questions and so we were treated...More
