Overview
More
This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

There was a great variety of animals at the zoo. The stars were the gorillas and the pandas. The twin pandas were especially playful with each other and their bamboo branches. The map was hard to relate to the actual enclosures.

The zoo was okay, nothing too spectacular. Their reptile exhibit was amazing however. So if you're into reptiles make sure you stop at that exhibit.

Took us about 5 hours to traverse the park while pushing a stroller. And while it did not contain as many animals as I have seen in Houston, St. Louis or Chicago, it was an enjoyable place for a stroll amongst the animals, which were...More

We went on a guided tour of Zoo Atlanta. Our guide gave us some neat facts and information about the animals and their habitats before giving us some time to explore on our own. Some of the exhibits were designed in a manner in which...More

Thank you for your feedback. and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your field trip guided tour. We'd like to point out that, though construction does seem to affect a large amount or land, there are only four species currently not visible: giraffe, zebra,...More

This is a very nice medium-sized zoo. We visited on Easter Day; while it was not busy when we arrived at opening time, it did get quite crowded by that afternoon. Their one large parking lot filled up early, but happily we got a spot...More

Your best bet would be to call the zoo. They would make those types of decisions depending on the type of weather.
