This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

For the most part, this is a great zoo. The pandas are a must see and the reptile house was actually my favorite place even though I'm not a huge fan of snakes. I was shocked at the number of reptiles and amphibians there. The...More

I really loved my visit to Zoo Atlanta. The diversity of species is incredible, and the exhibits are really well done. The main reason I give four stars instead of five is because there is a TON of space at the zoo dedicated to non-animal...More

Had a good time. My son fed the giraffe for a tiny fee, which was great. Did not have time to go thru the entire zoo, so had to decide what to cut out, which was sad.

It is a smaller zoo but very nice. The Panda attraction is great as there are both a Mom and Dad and two baby Pandas. The rest of the zoo is cute except for the elephant. The poor elephant is in too small an area...More

Atlanta Zoo was more compact than we expected, but still has an excellent range of animals and well organised so easy to make your way around it and see everything. We particularly enjoyed all the primate habitats and the birds. Keepers do regular talks on...More

Thank you for visiting Zoo Atlanta. We're glad you spent a couple of hours here with us. We apologize for the parking hassle. As you stated, arriving early is the best solution. Outside of the parking issue we're glad made it inside the zoo and...More

These encounters are extremely overpriced. Your guide tells you well known facts about pandas, that Google can tell you. You spend all that money to basically hear them talk. Then you get less than 5 mins to look at a panda in a barred cage,...More

I can't remember admission. There is free parking on site, but if it's full, you just go up into the adjoining neighborhood and park on the street.

They are at different times. Today the gorillas are at 1:45. However, on Sept. 4, they're at 2:15 with the orangutans at 2:30. Check the Zoo Atlanta website for the complete schedule on the date you're going.
