Overview
More
This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

It's a comparatively small zoo, but the kids enjoyed it enough. Fed the Giraffe lettuce for $3 for two leaves of lettuce and having its large sticky tongue slobbering on my hands was quite an experience. The panda enclosure was the most exhilarating experience, sitting...More

Our grandkids loved this zoo. However, some of the animals had already gone to their winter locations. The silver back gorilla stayed far from the crowds. We were very close to a lion that did a lot of roaring. Very impressive.

Came here with the family on a relatively chilly day (60's). Most of the animals were out but there were numerous exhibits where the animals were somewhere else. I don't mean hiding because it was cold, I mean they had been removed for something else...More

I would park off the Cherokee Avenue side of the park..if you go on Boulevard ave, you will have a LONG walk. Not sure on the pricing. I would suggest to check with you local library as they sometimes have free tickets!

They are at different times. Today the gorillas are at 1:45. However, on Sept. 4, they're at 2:15 with the orangutans at 2:30. Check the Zoo Atlanta website for the complete schedule on the date you're going.
