This extraordinary zoo, one of the oldest in the U.S., underwent a multi-million dollar renovation in the 1980s and is still expanding. Its landscaping replicates the natural habitats of the numerous animals, some of which are endangered species. Four panda bears from China delight the crowds, and groups of gorillas separated by moats do their own share of entertaining.

We went there with our almost 3yo. We did not see the giraffe which he wanted see. Saw one of the pandas eating bamboo.he was in a cage with glass wall. There was a train ride around the Zoo, Zipline and rock climbing for bigger kids and a play area for the little ones ahorter than 50inches. The several snakes... More

Went to zoo with a friend who lives in the area. The zoo has lots of trees and very shady and cool. Animal enclosures were a little small. Animals seemed to be well cared for. The Pandas were absolutely cute! Zoo staff was friendly and helpful. Nice snack bar to have lunch.

Visited with my wife and 19 year old son and two other teen friends. We all greatly enjoyed the entire experience. They have a wonderful array of animals. The gorillas and pandas are especially awesome! A super way to enjoy a half day with family or friends.

I sincerely and completely enjoy Zoo Atlanta. It has been pointed out that it is small, but I feel like that doesn't take away from how much fun it is to go. I LOVE that you can feed the giraffes and they have a petting zoo with the fattest goats and lambs ever which is totally adorable and lots of... More

I would think that a city like Atlanta would have a fantastic and magnificent zoo, but I took my son and I really was not impressed. The zoo actually seems kind of small to me based on others I've been to (i.e. STL Zoo) and there are not a lot of attractions or different animals (i.e. penguins - I know... More

This zoo was very interactive. We fed the giraffes and also watched the gorillas being fed. Best reptile house I've ever seen! The zoo was clean and easy to navigate.

For the most part the zoo was just average: very nice natural habitats for the animals, but some of them so large we couldn't find the animals. The giant panda exhibit wasn't very big, but the pandas were an absolute delight, as there are only 4 zoos in the US that have them. And there were twin cubs. Two docents... More

Always a fun day! Especially in the summer! Two words: splash pad. So after you walk around and get hot the kiddos and cool off in the splash pad. Petting zoo area. Train ride. Merry-go-round. Plenty to do and see.

The zoo has come a long way over the years. There's lots of interesting creatures there. The pandas are my favorite. The staff was very informative when asked a question. It was warm the day I was there and there are lots of trees in park therefore making it comfortable walking around.

We have came a long way. Great changes are coming! We’re happy to share that as part of our Grand New View expansion, our African animals will have a new and significantly expanded habitat along with changes to many of our existing ones. We would encourage you to follow that project on zooatlanta.org as it progresses. Have a great day. More

What i enjoyed most about Zoo Atlanta (besides the Animals) was the Landscape and the Grounds. It felt as if i was somewhere else- an "Urban Jungle" perhaps. It is the perfect way to spend a day with Family and Friends.
