This stunning, porcelain-enameled building was designed by famed architect Richard Meier and is rivaled only by the art inside. Featuring American, European and African art, as well as decorative art and photography, the High Museum boasts a permanent collection of over 11,000 pieces, many of which can be viewed from different levels of the four-story, glass atrium.

I had to do 4 stars. This open, modern, exemplary museum in downtown Atlanta has good parking available (paid but less for members), a new entryway off of a courtyard that was full of colorful and whimsical installations, and several exhibits advertised that drew our attention. Additions to the spaces of this museum have added remarkably to the original structure.... More

This was my second visit to the High Museum and I was just as mesmerized as the first time. The permanent collection is a mix of painting, sculpture, photographs, sketches, and furniture. Both times I've visited, there have been object installments outside. There is a small cafe and museum shop on the lobby floor and a parking garage adjacent. For... More

I liked everything about the High Museum of Art ! There was something for all groups of ages, and all sorts of different things for different taste. Had an excellent coffee at the small shop inside of the museum. Spent about 4 hours looking at all the exhibitions. Well done and the staff was very pleasant and informative.

This is a beautiful, airy, light-filled building full of amazing art. We were there in May 2015, and were lucky enough to see incredible exhibits of the photographers Gordon Parks, Helen Levitt and Leonard Freed. All stunning, and I feel lucky to have been able to see them. The permanent exhibits are also wonderful - I regret we only had... More

If you have not seen the High, you have not seen Atlanta at its finest. The building itself is a work of art. Designed by Renzo Piano, one of the world's finest architects. The Mo Willem exhibit on display right now is whimsical and fun. Civil Rights photos are also quite beautiful and focused not so much on protests but... More

This is a wonderful museum. All of the exhibits are very well-done. I love seeing art in furniture, paintings, on a TV screen, sculpture, as well as woven materials. We thought we'd spend a couple of hours there and spent 4 hours and didn't realize how long we were there. Highly recommend the HIGH MUSEUM of ART.

This is only the second museum that I have ever been too. Really great layout (tons of natural light and lovely airy spaces). My favorite was the top floor - they had a circle of speakers set up playing some monastery type music - and gigantic abstract paintings. I could have stayed up there for hours.

Always a great place that offers interesting art work. The prices are family friendly and food places are nearby. Take in a great art display and enjoy some good eats.

The High Museum has expanded facilities since my last visit. Multiple exhibits in different buildings. Many genres of Art. Museum offers something for everyone. You can spend several hours inside and come out and have a snack in the open areas or in the cafe. There is even an area for children. Great place to visit with families. They have... More
