This stunning, porcelain-enameled building was designed by famed architect Richard Meier and is rivaled only by the art inside. Featuring American, European and African art, as well as decorative art and photography, the High Museum boasts a permanent collection of over 11,000 pieces, many of which can be viewed from different levels of the four-story, glass atrium.

I have visited this wonderful museum twice and I loved it! There are always interesting exhibitions and the permanent collections are great too. I especially liked the concept car exhibition. I love the fact that they have free entry on the first Saturdays of the month for Fulton County residents and Bank of America card holders. Yippee! The museum is... More

The High always has something special in store for you when you visit. The permanent collection is also nice but it's the special exhibits that they excel at and it is always worth the trip.

Very beautiful building. The collections are interesting and educating. Staff is very friendly and willing to chit chat. A personal favorite was the folk art area, very interesting to see so many American treasures! Took advantage of the college student March special and got to check out the entire museum for only five dollars!

Its a well laid out museum, which pretty good traveling exhibits. But considering Atlanta's size- it really isn't that special. If you compare it to the museums in cities of comparable size, its far behind actually. The African art collection is a nice addition, but really only a small room of items. Also, not very kid friendly.

I've lived in Atlanta since 1996, and I had never been to the High. I was so impressed I purchased an annual membership. I'm so excited to get to know this fine museum better!

I loved the vibe here. It is a beautiful museum. So well laid out and easy to enjoy. Wish I had had more time to spend.

Given a choice, I would prefer to visit the Metropolitan Art Museum in New York, or Cleveland's Art Museum. The extent of the collection seemed pretty short. That would have been okay, but the guards around the museum were extremely rude and unprofessional. You could hear them complaining about work and how they wanted to go home. They seemed to... More

One whole floor was closed. I will say upfront I am not that in to art so I may not be the best person to review. It was just very boring and $19.00 to get in Plus $10.00 to park was totally not worth it to me, I went thru the whole place in about 45 mins. My favorite part... More

Visited the High on the 50th anniversary of the March on Selma. I went specifically to see the Gordon Parks exhibit which was very well curated and very powerful to experience. The museum was fabulous with spaces that called were works of art themselves. This was my first visit and I didn't have long to experience all the High has... More

The Gordon Parks exhibit was wonderful. I saw it while friends were in Selma with Obama. Nice juxtaposition. Also loved the Coke exhibit. Warhol well presented. Short experimental film was tops. But my favorite moment was unplanned: a group of high school students participating in a portrait competition! Three minutes to draw each other's faces. I ended up buying two... More
