What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon! We loved talking with the characters and docents, exploring this beautiful house on our own, and making connections with our past knowledge about the history of people who had ties to this place (Lizzie)...thoroughly enjoyed our time...More

We were in Atlanta for a wedding anniversary, weekend and visited The Atlanta History Center/Swan House for the first time. After spending several hours viewing the exhibits at the history center, we walked over to the Swan House. Most people seemed to rush through the...More

The man who plays the architect that designed the house gave us an informative and fun tour of the house on Friday, July 14. He never strayed from his character the whole time and I thought it was so nice of him to take the...More

The house is beautiful, and the 1930s characters that you will meet to show you the house (e.g., the owner, the architect, a servant) really make it great. They're very knowledgeable about their character, the time period, details of the house, the inhabitants' personalities, and...More

The teens in my group were interested in this specific part of the larger historical site in Atlanta. The rooms with characters (in costume, speaking as one of the persons who lived/visited Swan House) made it enjoyable, but much of the house is not staffed.

I've seen many historic homes and some palaces in Europe and this home is up there with the best. The costumed guides were truly wonderful and unforgettable and the views....wow!

One of my absolute favorite places to go! Tucked in Buckhead area, you wouldn't think the Atlanta History Center would have 22 acres behind it of peaceful & beautiful gardens, and the Swan House. Staff in character made the self-tour so interactive on every level...More

They do a kind of "mini Williams-burg" with the actors/actresses doing role playing and in character and time This helps with the immersion into the history. There is a Model T outside in great condition. The home itself is very interesting and the architect's private...More
