The hike is not for staters but very rewarding. If the waterlevels are high be sure to be extra carefull as the difficulty level increases considerabel.

Really good fun no health and safety nonsense would recommend keep the river on your left and you can’t get lost. Several ways to head back on a nice bar/restaurant when you finish for a well deserved beer 🍻

With our family we did the hike in Los Cahorros, it was a very nice hike and it was also very challenging for our kids aged 11, 10 and 7. A lot of people also walk the trail backwards when they ended the trail. However...More

I️ am afraid of heights so often pick hikes that are terrifying to me.🤷‍♀️ This one had hanging bridges and narrow walkways along stone walls. The drop off however was not nearly as scarey as those in the Madeira levadas. It dropped off maybe 7...More

This trail looked scary in spots, from a distance, but wasn’t; this was a perfect combination for me! There was no map available or posted - we asked others on the trail and learned that a part of the trail had been cut off, so...More

the 183 bus (1.5 euros) will take you from Granada Centro to the village of Monachil, named presumably for the Rio Monachil that carved this deep gorge. I turned around before completing the full circuit but got many great pix. good for the family but...More

Loved this walk, requires sturdy footwear and basic fitness level and agility. Takes 2-3 hours from Monachil to do full circuit. Varied scenery.

We travelled 30 minutes to get there - I wouldn't have liked to travel any further for this. It was a nice walk with rope bridges adding excitment for the kids aged 10 and 13. Smaller kids will struggle and it will be tough to...More

It might be a bit uncomfortable for someone like that but it will depend on how fit they are. There are some very fit mature people. It is not a risky path anyway.
