I truly wanted to give the Emerson House a five-star review, as I love Emerson and the whole Concord scene. I live nearby. However, I think I'm generous giving it three. This museum has limited hours and I stopped in when I realized it was open and I had time for a visit. I was the only visitor. Four docents... More

A very interesting tour. Emerson's family still owns the house and operates it as a homage to "the Great Man of Concord". Lots of good insights to life in the late 1800's in Concord and of the famed orator.

We took a your through Emerson's house by a young lady who was new on the job. She did an excellent job taking us room to room giving us history and the life story of Ralph. Not only was it awesomely educating it always served up private and some funny snippets of the quirky man we all know to be... More

Went here as an extension of our tour of the museum across the street on a perfect late summer day. You must ring the doorbell to enter. Then we had two wonderful docents who conducted us through the house. They were bursting with information about the Emerson family and shared it in a very nice way. Plenty of time to... More

We enjoyed this tour very much! The tour guides were knowledgeable and imparted the information in an informal, entertaining manner. The house is completely furnished with the original furniture except for one room (that furniture you will find set up as it would have been in the house, at the concord museum). The only down side to this tour is... More

Combine this tour with that of the Concord Museum for a cost savings. Fascinating place with very knowledgeable tour guides. Such a sense of history.

The Emerson House is well-preserved. Tour guides are extraordinarily well-versed in the history of the home as well as the Emerson family's lives.....a fantastic and quaint stop if you're in Concord. As our group of teens took several tours during our stay in the Boston area, this was at the top in terms of detail and bang for buck admissions-wise.... More

This museum was a favorite. A nice break from all the military history in Concord. The museum guides know their subject well and the tour is far more interesting than I imagined it would be. Plan for 45 minutes.

We were only in Concord for a couple of days, and I knew Emerson's house was the place to see. I love the Transcendentalists, so being at Emerson's house felt like sacred ground. Wish the tour guides were a little less scripted, but they were happy to answer questions. If you can, go to the Concord Museum right across the... More
