This is a stunningly beautiful place - reached either by walking 10-15 minutes up a steep hill or via a taxi. We walked up. Very glad. Views are incredible - please see below.

we took a small detour to come here between Valencia and Tortosa...glad we made the effort to have a wander here and look up the viewpoint/castle and related history. The castle is a nice slow climb from the beach area and a nice mini workout in the summer hear. Most visitors were certainly pumping sweat on the walk around. You... More

It's a great castle, inside and out, not that cheap, but not too expensive either. The view is breathtaking. If you are in the area, do not miss it.

The Castle is a must to visit when your in Peniscola ,if you like history and spectacular views from the top of the castle , there are lots of steep stair cases so be prepared , entry is 5euro,kids under 9 free , admission gives you free entry to castle gardens as well .

Peniscola is like a tale of 2 cities. The modern town, then the town below the castle which is beautifully old and quaint. Lots of cobbled streets lead to the castle, they are filled with shops restaurants and bars and come alive in the evening. We just love this very Spanish town

A lovely walk up through the old town up to the castle. However, it is a steep cobbled road, and rather slippery through years of use.

Interesting history in this old castle, but the views of the Sea from its ramparts were fantastic. Worth the climb!

Interesting castle, location very good but not too much reference to the Templars. The old village around the castle is interesting but has a lot of tourist shops,
