Stopped here on the way to flagstaff. We were surprised at how short the trail was and the limited ruins to check out. It was nice, if you have an America the beautiful pass it's worth a stop, but we enjoyed Wupatki national monument (just...More

A lovely visitors center with informative rangers welcomes you to a gentle trail leading to a cliff style dwelling of interesting design and intriguing history. If you enjoy history of Native Americans this is a must.

A quick, short walk to see an interesting cliffside dwelling. Amazing to note that up until 1951 they actually allowed people to walk thru the site! The picnic grounds were ok too, and are a nice place to bring a lunch. Rangers are friendly and...More

I don't mind supporting our parks but was pleasantly surprised that we also got entrance to Tuzigoot Park too! Montezuma castle does not take long to see, I advise driving to see Montezuma Well before a lunch stop at G's Burgers before driving to Cottonwood...More

We volunteer at the "Castle" and as docents soak up all the information we can about the "Montezuma Castle" and pass on all we have learned and talk to visitors, both from U.S., Canada and others from Europe, Japan, etc. We feel it is a...More

An wonderful side trip on our way to Sedona! The cliff dwellings were very interesting. The rangers & volunteers were quite educated while the paved trail signs provided great information about the vegatation and the surroundings,

The park is really well laid out and takes about an hour to walk the entire thing. There is a great little museum inside to stop off before or after your visit of the castle. It's really a unique visit and definitely worth the time!

If you're planning to visit here you must inquire about Montezuma Well. It's a short drive from the castle, but worth it.

I spent between 1-2 hours there (I also like the indoor exhibits). We did not have chance to visit Tuzigoot.

No. There is a gently slipping walkway that would be appropriate for a walker though. The "ruins" are not extensive and the path is quite short.

We traveled from Prescott and did not stop in Jerome, but we did the castle and the well in about 2-2.5 hours. And you cannot go up into the castle. Walking tours stopped when geologists deemed it unsafe.
