We had a good time. However we came a little later and felt rushed. It would have been nice if a discount was available for late visitors. We did not get to feed a giraffe because of our lateness. You don't even half to walk the entire time. Shuttles available everywhere due to the large size of park. Animals were... More

Although the landscape within and surrounding the park is not particularly lush or scenic, it actually has some similarities to the natural habitat of these animals. So, from the start, you get this "Africa" feel about the whole place. This park was SO fun, even though we did not take advantage of all it offers. We did get to feed... More

My kids aged 11 and 13 loved this experience. It's not a typical zoo. Interaction with animals far exceeds what you usually find. However if you are looking for a pristine well landscaped zoo like the Phoenix Zoo you will be disappointed. It is located in the high desert of Camp Verde and they have left the terrain as natural... More

We started off the day by taking the shuttle through the hooved animal enclosures. The guide was funny, informative, and involved and did her best to allow all members on the bus get a good close up view of the animals. We loved seeing the zebras and especially the giraffe, who will give your face a bath if you put... More

Definitely not an average zoo. We went on an average spring day for the area (upper 70's, not a cloud in sight), and definitely wish we would have prepared differently! I would highly recommend water - bring lots of it. Hats, sunblock, etc are necessities - there are some shade structures in picnic areas, and at the tiger splash, but... More

This place is a class act! Many of the animals are rescued from bad conditions and given good habitats here (large, clean, stimulating). The employees are knowledgable (many have years of training, and degrees in biology or zoology). The free safari bus ride allowed us to see more animals up close than on a real African safari (try to take... More

This is a privately run animal park. It is a bit touristy and expensive, but the kids enjoyed feeding the animals.

Several options for guided tours through the park. Can also walk and take your own time to see the animals. The staff are very friendly, know their stuff and obviously care about the creatures. Highly recommended.
