Awesome place to stop enjoy the path close by and see how life was back in the day. It is crazy to see how far we have progressed in such a short period of time. Well worth the stop to relax and enjoy the fall weather.

Dot, dot, dash, dash, the telegraph begat the phone begat the internet. And if all began here. A village of relocated original buildings on the original site. Compact, easy to tour. Limited parking, but across the street is a Morristown municipal park with extra parking and, as a bonus, an entrance to a lovely, paved greenway that's part of the extensive Patriot's Path system.

This is the site of an old iron forge that became the site where the telegraph was developed. If you are serious about your history, this site is even set up so that you can enjoy when closed. But.. if that is not your bag, you may not enjoy it. I loved it.

What a find in Morristown! I was disappointed at how little attention was paid to the significance of this invention within the museum. The property has become a place to deposit period buildings from the area - and not all of them can be toured. The tour guides were junior and not very polished in their knowledge or understanding of the history. Overall worth seeing if you’re in the area but this isn’t run like a national monument so keep your expectations in check.
