Allow about 45 minutes for this trail. It is not difficult for anyone in reasonable shape. One of the highlights was a photo I got inside a cave that show part of George Washington.

I highly recommend walking this trail. It is not too strenuous although there are A LOT of stairs. But the views are amazing and worth every step.

I knew that this was the way that I wanted to see Mount Rushmore before getting there. Everything that I read said that it was a strenuous walk with many stairs. The many stairs was accurate, the strenuous was not. If you are not in...More

Nothing really great about the trail. It only took us about 20 minutes which included photo stops. I felt we had to do it so the kids could burn off some energy and to allow us to stay longer at the monument.

Great trail. There are a bunch of steps to climb on the right side, but plenty of benches should you need a rest. The trail offers great views of Mount Rushmore from unusual angles.

It's a pretty easy trail that takes half an hour or less and gets you the best views of the mountain.

The visit to Mount Rushmore would not be complete without time on the Presidential Trail. A workout worth the trip.

Take the Presidential Trail while at Mt. Rushmore. History of the presidents along the way and some awesome views of the Mt. There are lots of steps/stairs.

An easy trail that gets you even closer to the monument. Take the time for the short trip on the boardwalk.

Be prepared for a good number of stairs (I think there is an option to go half way and turn around if you want to avoid stairs, but you'll only see half as well). The trail itself is not long and if you came to...More

Depends on your stamina. I recommend clockwise, but either way works fine. My reasoning is that clockwise takes you to the close in viewing points sooner. And sometimes you will see mountain goats along that section of... More
