Seeing Mount Rushmore was one the main motivations for our trip to the Black Hills and it did not disappoint. We visited in the morning and returned that night for the evening lighting ceremony. If you can do both it is well worth it—you only...More

The grounds have changed a lot since 1994, the last time I was here. There is now a large parking area, a large gift store, and plenty of restrooms. But the real reason for the visit is to see the majestic monument fo the four...More

Visited Mount Rushmore during the busy 2017 Labor Day week-end. Although lots of visitors we found parking easy with quick access to the main entrance. This memorial has done an excellent job of property maintenance amid huge crows of tourists. Food venues about the property...More

I was luke-warm about our trip to South Dakota as it was not on my bucket list of places to visit. However, I was very soon enjoying all I was seeing. We went to Mt. Rushmore twice while we were there...once during the day, then...More

I've been to Mount Rushmore before, it never fails to amaze me! I used my newly acquired Senior Pass from the Park Service to enter. You still have to pay $5 for parking, but that parking pass is good for one year on the vehicle...More

Saw this memorial for the first time. It was very inspiring and felt good, especially with all the conflict going on. We also went back for the evening ceremony honoring the vets and four presidents. This should be on everyone's bucket list for sure.

Every American should see this at least once. They do charge to enter the Memorial. Actually to park, which you have to since the road is winding and narrow. Take time to go inside the gift shops. There was the last living man who helped...More

The history of the building of this national memorial is very inspirational. Plan on walking the presidential trail at the foot of the monument and to attend the lighting ceremony.

Good morning Glen, The walkways are 100% accessible, from your car to the main part of the museum I would say is about a 10 minute walk. There are elevators are in both the garage and museum.
