We loved our trip to South Dakota and Mount Rushmore. It was my first time as a 38 year old and it didn't disappoint. My only regret is the trail closure was ill timed for our visit. Otherwise, it was great.
Growing up I had always seen the monument in pictures, shows, and movies but nothing compares to being there in person. It is an amazing place to see. Plus it's lit up at night!

This is by far one of the more memorable parts of out trip. The views are fantastic, do watch the video before you venture on the paved trails to take it all in. If you can go to the night ceremony it is very special.
