If you are an OK skier you will have the red and black slopes more or less to yourself. There are a lot of spaniards standing on a pair of skiis for the first time here. This skiing system compares medium size systems in Sweden like Åre and Sälen.

After the rather hair-raising drive to get there we were rewarded by a zoo completely to ourselves. The animals were well kept although we saw no signs of people maintaining them and the enclosures were large. There was a great variety of animals there- how they got a hippo up there is anyone's guess! The experience definitley worth having although... More

This park was amazing, the road there was a bit precarious but had terrific views. Not for the faint hearted though! Very few people there so lots of opportunity to get close to the animals and it was a real surprise to find tigers, lions, bears, lemurs, hyenas etc. felt like we had landed in Jurassic park. An unexpectedly great... More

If the animals had enough or proper food, this zoo would be a marvellous attraction. It is situated high up in the Sierra at the end of a spectacular 11km drive to the north of Almunecar. Take some fresh fruit and/or vegetables and when no one is looking, feed the inhabitants. Do NOT give them junk food or salt or... More

There are quite a few challenges getting to this zoo, firstly finding it due to the lack of signs and the hairpin bends on the single track road upto the zoo but this all adds to the adventure of this amazing place. The first time we visited, we searched for where to pay, someone to ask what was going on,... More

In winter from december until april you can go for skiing. In winter also with young children. If you want to go off-piste you 'd better look for another area, but if you like good pistes for the better amateur-skiing this is a good place. In summer you can go up with de elevators from july until 6th of september... More

This isn't an ordinary zoo, it's collection a collection of random animals on the side of a mountain with an incredible pool. We took our 8, 7, and 3 year old and they loved it. We have never been so close to the animals. Bears, monkeys, camel, lions, a hippo, wolves, in open areas. Don't go with expectations of a... More

This place is not well advertised and coulodn't be located on our GPS! The drive up was stunning but on arrival...very disappointing. I assumed it would be a hairpin bend drive up to a park which had wide open spaces and places for kids to run around. What we found was a continuation of these hairpin bends and a few... More

Funded by Euro money and it shows - no one at the entrance so that was free. Very steep concrete road winds past reasonable enclosures of all sorts of animals, including a stunning White tiger. The 'restaurant' was an overstaffed cafe and they had to stop watching telly to serve us - but then the menu del dia was a... More
