Another awesome November getaway at Calabogie Peaks. Golf course keeps getting better each time we visit. I met some nice people at the Canthooks restaurant in the Hotel. Iasked if they knew a good hiking trail and they suggested Eagle's Nest. I was awestruck when...More
The grounds here are nicely maintained and pleasant for walking around.
Nice spot for picnic jutting out into the lake with bathroom and other facilites.
Easy to access some of the hills and trails near by. Good restaurant in the hotel.
Summer is beautiful here at Calabogke peaks. Lots of hiking trails and wild life. After hiking, take a dip in the lake. Just be cautious about poison oak and wild parsnip which can burn. There are lots here. Stay on trails....
From the initial meeting with the event coordinator until we left on the Sunday after a wonderful Brunch, everything was perfect. The staff were all friendly and accommodating, the rooms and condo's were well appointed and clean. There was room to park all the large...More
We bring students from Ottawa to ski here. They always enjoy the day and this is great skiing for Ontario. The hills are various and offer a test for some stronger skiers and still offer an easy way down for beginners. I have been numerous...More

We decided to check out the place in early March. Surprisingly the conditions were excellent (this year winter must be difficult for ski resorts), obviously they take care of grooming the slopes and making sure everything is functional. During the week only one lift is...More

Yes, the skiing does compare ... the verticals are similar. There are some good intermediate runs at Calabogie and a little expert terrain; however, the best justification for Calabogie over Blue Mountain is the lifetime saved NOT waiting in lift lines at Calabogie. If you have more than a 45 sec lift line, that's long at Calabogie. Most times, even on weekends, you basically ski onto the lift. It's in the middle of nowhere and a longer drive from the GTA and that's a good thing. A bad part is their cafeteria is horrible. Expensive too. Avert this downside by saving money and deep fried cholesterol by bringing your own food to the lodge or go back to your mountainside condo rental for lunch.
