What stands out here is the quality of the story-telling. You may have visited old prisons before, but at this one we are presented with the stories of the people incarcerated here and folks who looked after them. Well worth a visit.

There were no guided tours. Instead, you got this little electronic tour guide to show you the way. The upstairs was under renovation and therefore we weren’t allowed up there. It was definitely a blast from the past. I’ve driven past this place many times...More

A different museum to visit, well displayed and restored county jail. Hand held speakers that explain each room great, an interesting look into jail life.

There is so much to see, I loved the shape of the building and the fact that they are keeping the historic building, History is important even if we don't agree with the way the past was

I thought the jail would be really interesting for my boys (ages 13 & 15). We visited on one of the interactive evenings when locals role-played as jail staff and inmates. But unfortunately my teens weren't interested in engaging any of the "actors" in conversation....More
