Park is nice. Lots of trees adequate privacy. Sites quite close together. So noise does travel. We came midweek so fairly quiet. Shower closed for season due to COVID but playground is open.
Sadly much of the beach is gone due to erosion. What is left of the beach is strewn with natural and human debris. There is very little of this once beautiful beach to sit on and keep distance. The entry to the water is covered in smooth rocks so water shoes are a good idea.
The area where you fill your trailer with water is just in front of the dumping area. Sooo if two trailers are dumping you can’t get to the water filling area. Not very well planned out.
We stayed on site 47. A corner sit but still quite private and a two minute walk from the Huron campground look out to see the most beautiful sunsets over the lake.

The good. I think we lucked out again by chance the most private shady site in 35 degree heat. Most other sites were very open by our standards.
Lovely walking biking trails for families and dogs.
Not too buggy maybe it was too hot for bugs, lots of fly activity at dinner had to BBQ in the screen tent. Lots of spiders.
Regular monitoring of all areas by camp staff
Amazing sunsets over Lake Huron

The maybe. Depends on your situation but lots of constant kid noise from bicycle horns or kids circling the block for hours beep beep, partiers or radios. Mostly it started early and ended by 10pm.
In a Covid year nothing else to do kids gotta blow off steam. Parents didn't seem to parent.
Concerned sometimes by the lack of social distancing.

Very nice camp ground. Good size camp site with easy electric hook up. The comfort station was super clean and convenient. The trails were lovely and pretty comfortable for any ability. The only thing is if you follow the trail along the beach past the ravine you will find only steps at the end. We didn't want to cycle back so we carried out bikes up them. We wanted to use our drone to take some pictures but because the airport is so close were not able to and the lights from the airport stopped the sky being properly dark for photos that night however we would highly recommend this site and will use it again in the future.

This provincial park contains 2 campgrounds: Colburn and Huron. By chance we have only stayed in Huron, but it is excellent. Most sites are large and have great privacy on 3 sides.

Comfort stations are kept clean by both staff and respectful campers. Comfort stations contain toilets, showers and laundries.

Staff at this provincial park are very helpful, whether front office, maintenance or law enforcement.

The beach is a natural and beautiful sandy Beach, including a dog beach area. The beach has beautiful sunsets every day.

If you haven't been to Point Farms, I would definitely consider this a must next season.
The entry is lined with apple trees so you can really feel the old age charm when entering the park. The sites have a combination of shade and sun, which is perfect. The whole park is on the bluffs with sunset views, and a central bathroom with a park right there. There is no shortage of walking and biking trails, which can be found on your own or recommended by the super friendly camp hosts. The sandy beach is quite nice and you can either walk down the stairs, through the forest or drive down to a large parking lot. Even the dog beach, which is right beside the regular beech is just as nice.
I would say we have found our new favourite campground. This is our 3rd stay here and we are already planning a 4th. Happy Trails!

We have been coming to Point Farms ever since the children were born and have never had a bad experience. This is a family campground as opposed to a " party" campground. Lots of older campers who come to get away for the week and families with small children. It can be quite active during the day due to the large numbers of small kids but remember that they also go to bed early so usually by 10:00 it has quieted down to nothing. There are exceptions to this but generally it's very quiet.
The sunsets are magnificent and well worth watching. The crowds usually head to the Huron lookout as it is larger than the one at Colbourne. Some great pictures can be obtained from this area.
The beach has become very narrow due to the water being so high this year so space is limited. Go early to stake out an area. If you walk down a bit past the large washroom you can usually find an area. Wear swim shoes as the beach has become quite rocky with small stones. The water gets shallow when you venture out about 10-15 ft. The kids will have a great time. Venture into the Goderich town beach and visit the Cove at the far end. Great family beach. Bring a lunch and make it a day. You can buy fries and stuff at both ends of the beach. Large boardwalk extends from one end of the Town beach near the salt mines to the Cove. Fun to watch the large ships enter and leave the loading dock area. There are lifeguards at the Cove area beach. Not sure about the Town beach area. Make sure to visit Cuthberts bakery before heading down to the beach. Yum. When you leave the make and renter the Town circle which is extremely pretty and quaint make sure to make note of the buildings. Note how they have rebuilt from the Tornado that demolished the town a few years back. You can see how some buildings are old brick in the lower portion and new brick in the upper half. Very interesting. There are some picture books available in town that show how badly things got damaged. Sunday's are fun as they have a flea market in the Town circle . Good place to spend a few hours and a few dollars.
Firewood can be purchased in the campground or at Point Fams convenience store which is just outside the park. I recommend , however to drive into town. Take a right leaving the park and drive to the lights at #8. Tim Hortons on the corner. Turn left and drive up a few blocks towards the Beer Store on the left. Goderich bait and tackle sells wood in large white bags , visible from the road, for $8.00 . The quality of wood is way better and you get twice the amount. The stuff from the park and store is $9.00 and you only get the small mesh bags . You'll burn two bags for any decent fire so do the math. $18.00 bucks a day can get pricey over the week and I find the bags from town last two maybe three fires
If your looking for a breakfast away from camp,,Flipping Eggs is worth a visit. Pretty good food at reasonable prices. Home made potatoes ,( which do need some seasoning ) nicely cooked breakfast. Don't order the sausage however as it is deep fried in oil rather than the griddle and they taste greasy. The skillets look great. Willeys in town is also another must visit. Featured on you gotta eat here.
If you're a golfer there is a small 9 hole just outside the park and heading into town , under the bridge is Maitland Golf club which follows the Maitland river. Nice course , not overly difficult.
Point Fams convenience is a nice family run business that sells the standard day to day stuff as well as propane , ice cream cones , and mini golf for the kids to enjoy. Really nice place , well run and they have just added a truck this year that sells fries and hotdogs etc. Worth a few visits over the week. We purchased some hotdogs that turned out to be from a local butcher and they were awesome. Not the standard Schneiders / MapleLeaf junk.
If you are coming into town from the East ( Toronto , Hamilton , make sure to visit the local farmers all along the back road routes. Local corn is plentiful now and many roadside stands are there . The farmers always appreciate the business and I am always grateful for their hard work. Many small towns to visit along the way. Woodstock , Stratford , Sebringville , Tavistock ( cheese ) , Clinton, etc. Sorry if I missed a few. Give yourself extra time and stop for a visit. Small town Ontario at its finest. If your looking for a day trip , Grand Bend is within driving distance and has the tourist trap stores and a really pretty beach. Growling Gators is worth a visit for a few drinks and some apps. Nice place right on the beach.
Overall, the park is great even though they no longer offer the barn which was always fun for movie nights and barn dances. They say it's due to insurance reasons but I'm sure they could find a way if the really chose to. Was always a big draw for the kids and adults alike. Nothing even close in the many parks we have visited over the years.
Give the park a five star rating, great staff , very friendly and clean. Worth the visit and we'll continue to return for many years.

Ok the park itself campsites and location is a solid 4 star, however not a lot of privacy for most sites, nice place I must say. But that is where it ends, given how much a site now costs per night including the reservation fee online which is too high, If I am doing all the booking it should be cheaper (cash Grab) getting close to the cost of a stay in a Super 8 or Motel 6 you would think they would be a little better, I guess it could be end of season but I went to the comfort stations in the evening and in the morning and well nothing was cleaned or touched up during that time. I think that they need to look at the US State park system where things are cleaned with military precision. I guess when you have a monopoly it does not matter what product you offer. Well I will speak with my feet and keep going state side less expensive sites and cleaner facilities.

This is a lovely little park. We enjoy the fact that it is quite small, and therefore less busy. Choose your campsite carefully – some of the sites are very much out in the open, especially the corner sites. The comfort station in the Colborne campground is newer and kept very clean, while the comfort station in the Huron campground is older. The staff are friendly and helpful. The beach is gorgeous and can be walked to easily from the campgrounds. You descend 120+ wooden steps to get to the beach area. The walking trails are interesting and well marked. There isn’t a park store, but there is a small store directly across from the entrance. The firewood they sell is terrible – we ended up buying excellent firewood from the nearby town of Goderich. There does seem to be a slight problem with some campers at Point Farms thinking they are entitled to bring their dogs into the comfort station – we encountered this twice in one day.

We were lucky to have gotten the last campsite which was #13 in The Huron campground for a July weekend. Usually everywhere is all booked up. Our site was pretty spacious, not too sunny but more on the shady side. There wasn't much Mosquitos here like you see at Turkey Point. Grateful for that. It was a very busy campground, lots if family and children. It's also radio free if that's up your alley. The beach was nice and sandy in certain areas but it was pretty rocky when you went in the water. The water was nice and clean. There were two volleyball nets up for people to use and picnic tables on the beach. Also a bonus that there were washrooms 2 min walking distance from the beach. There's also a dog beach at the other end. All the comfort stations were new and kept clean. I enjoyed their showers. Even the outhouses were clean and did not smell at all. There are several hiking trails that we did not have time to do. There's no store on site. You have to go out of the park to get to it. Very close by. I was dissapointed with the wood they sold. For $10.00 I got a bag of wood that looked like pieces cut from a skid. What a rip off. Burned way too quickly. Perhaps look around the area for real wood and it'll probably be cheaper. The town of Goderich is very close by, maybe 7-8 km. they got lots if restaurants and grocery stores. There was an art festival while we were there. We ate at this wonderful restaurant that was apart of "The Bedford Hotel". Very good food and affordable. The kids meals were $4.99 and great portions. We had pastas, burgers, wings. Was amazing and the service was excellent. All in all our trip here was fantastic! I would come back. We had a lovely time.

Loved the section of beach they had for dogs!!! For those of us who travel with our pets because they are part of our family, this was a great spot. Usually dogs get the part of the beach with rocks everywhere, and obstacles to the water. Not hear, dogs have access to the sandy areas and a great sand bar that allows them to venture out and cool off on a hot day. We loved the beach and we camped out all day there with all our beach gear. We also walked and biked trails.
