Acushnet Ave is not very long, but it's packed with a variety of mom-and-pop shops that address the variety of needs in an immigrant community -- hair dressers, grocery mini-markets, restaurants, etc. This is a good place to roll the dice and try out authentic...More

Back in the day I'm sure It was something incredible.. All the shops, main stretch of road with your typical all American mom and pop stores.. It's a street everyone should avoid.

Acushnet ave is very good for Portuguese food and pastry. Also for the boutiques that they have . The bakery's have that good Portuguese bread that you can buy it as it is coming out of the oven.

It's a run-down old avenue with old businesses and old signs, but the food is great and you get a real sense of being somewhere else.
