Learn all about our award winning Artisan small-batch chocolate and how it is made. Learn about harvesting, fermentation, drying and roasting. See cocoa fruit on trees growing in our gardens and taste fresh cacao fruit. You will walk through our gardens and where you will also see coffee, banana and guava trees. Also a variety of tropical and medicinal plants growing on our grounds. You will have a chance to view small-batch chocolate making in progress and taste plenty of samples including our world famous famous brownies. Chocolate bars and other locally made products and artisan goods are available for purchase. We also have a festive evening tour available at a reduced fee if you join both tours. The Leyenda de Chocolate tour takes you back in time experiencing how chocolate has been made for 5,000 years ago. Ask for both tours! Beer brewed on site, coffee grown and roasted on site. Came here for a breakfast and had the granola which was homemade and delicious and such a good portion. The outdoor seating has amazing views. Slightly more expensive than other places in town but worth it.

We took the two chocolate tours for $16. The first is a taste test and tour. The guide was well versed in English and a couple other languages. It was educational and well done. The second was later at night where we roasted and ground...More

This tour is great except you get eaten live with mosquitoes whilst walking among the garden while he explains the plants to you. Wear lots of mosquito repellent. Tour excellent and very informative

We stayed nearby and decided, on a whim, to take the chocolate tour. We were a bit reluctant because of the $10 per person fee and 30 minute wait time. The tour is unique and totally worth it. Featuring a hands on experience of the...More

I visited El Quetzal in March with my dad and sister. It was a rainy evening in Mindo, so we were looking for an indoor activity and the chocolate tour had been recommended to us. What we didn't realize until we got there was that...More
