This company has the most unsafe transportation I've ever experienced after a year of working and traveling around Ecuador. Both drivers and buses were not safe. Communication was either very slow, nonexistant, or ignored. They were also not honest about the transportation and changed important details hours beforehand. Avoid at all costs!

Hi Lindsey T, I am sorry to hear that you felt our service was not up to your standards but I must express that the safety of our clients is our number one priority. Not only are all of our drivers carefully selected and held to the highest standards of safety, all of our buses are up to date on yearly revision tests and safety regulations. Unfortunately there are unforeseen occasions that cause our transportations to go a little less smoothly than we would like, such as a flat tire or changes in schedules due to weather conditions, which our professional drivers are all experts in how to handle. It is important to remember that driving through Ecuador, especially through the Andes is not your average drive on a highway, and things like the weather play a huge role in the safety of our passengers, therefore it is always stated that unforeseen changes in schedules due to weather conditions are possible, as is in every reputable agency here in Ecuador, because the reality is we can't control the weather and we are not willing to put our clients at any sort of risk. On another note I would like to mention that we do not have any record of a "Lindsey T" on any of our passengers lists which is a mandatory requirement here in Ecuador so I can not confirm the transportation on which you felt unsafe so that I can do a follow up with my team. We take our client feedback very seriously as it is our best way of always improving our service. I urge you to contact me personally via our website or through a private message here so we can further discuss. Hope to hear from you.

Laura and Ishai are the consummate hosts and experts on the best experiences in all of Ecuador. Laura planned an itinerary that included 3 nights land based Galapagos experience, 4 nights partying in Montanita, 3 nights Banos and 3 nights Quito. Every tour was exceptional. Wildlife experiences in Galapagos were life changing. We basically did everything in Banos...so awesome! Cotopaxi awe inspiring. Thank you for making our experience something we will remember forever. I highly recommend Montanitours!

Tried using Montanita Tours to pre plan our excursions prior to our arrival. I like to have our activities booked in advance when possible so less vacation time is "wasted". They were very slow to respond and at times no response if I did not follow up with them. We had planned to do 3 tours with them, but due to slow response and miscommunication we only booked 1 with them. Upon arrival figured we could book most tours directly on our own and less $.

We were organized by the owner of Mantani tours Ishai who arranged our flights fro Quayaquil to Quito then to Coca. We then boarded a 40 foot canoe with about 35 other people and at about 25 knots speed we went for 2 hours down the Napo River sitting in very comfortable bus seats. Upon arrival at the lodge we were greeted by the friendly staff who gave us cold fruit drinks and a cold face cloth. Shown to our very clean accommodation and then back to the lodge to meet 2 of our guides. These guides one spoke English, Tyson who was the Naturalist, the other spoke Spanish, Eladio knew about the various communities and culture along the river. These 2 guides spent 4 days with us and were extremely knowledgeable about the animals, birds and fauna. All the meals we had were excellent and the staff were delightful. This tour of the jungle was every thing that was expected and more. We highly recommend Ishai of Mantani Tours who organized the 4 days 3 nights tour which has given us a better understanding of the Amozon rain forest in Ecuador. Bonnie and Neville Kamloops BC Canada

We asked for a tour of Machalilla national park, & agua blanca natural hot springs. For $90 we took the PUBIC bus to Puerto Lopez, where Carlos met us, and provided super filthy snorkeling masks, and drove around 30 minutes more to get fins. Then stops to do this and that with his family. He urged us to snorkel in the harbor of Puerto Lopez: REALLY!!!

Finally, we were taken to Agua Blanca, and that was amazing!!!

Then to Machililla National Park a mere hour before they closed. The park closed at 4, and Agua Blanca closed at 6. We were not treated well by any measure

Dear AW, First off we are very sorry you felt that your experience with us at MontaniTours was unsatisfactory, but I would like to address what happened. First of all, I'd like to clarify that this was not one of our organized tours, but rather something that we built according to exactly what you wanted. Our daily National Park of Machilla tours or Tour Costero includes: a 2 hour boat ride around Isla Salango with snorkeling and kayaking, and a visit to Los Frailes beach. Arriving midday, the only way to transport you to the national park at that hour would have been in private transportation, which would have an additional cost that you were not interested in paying, so in order to keep the price down we suggested that you could take the public bus and ride back with our daily tour's transportation, which you were satisfied with. With regards to your unsavory experience with the snorkeling, unfortunately most of the beautiful snorkeling sites around this area of the coast are offshore and at sea. Since you clearly stated that you did not want to go on a boat, the harbor of Puerto Lopez is the best place to actually see some underwater life. It's a shame you didn't even go in, if you had you probably would have seen lots of turtles, schools of fish, etc. Since most snorkeling is done off shore, all of our snorkeling equipment as well as most other operators is at sea, so Carlos tried his best to find you the best equipment he could, we apologize if you felt it wasn't up to your standards. We are very happy to hear you enjoyed Agua Blanca, the Manteña people have a very rich culture, and the hot springs are very therapeutic. Unfortunately Los Frailes does have a very strict rule about closing at 4, and that is when our tour heads back to Montanita. It could have been an option to do it the other way but then you would have needed private transportation, again something you did not want. Once again, we are sorry your experience with us was not enjoyable, we did the best of our ability according to your wants and needs, which was made very clear in the beginning. We hold our commitment of quality and good service to our clients at a very high standard, and it is very important to us the satisfaction of each and every one. We invite you back to MontaniTours for a whole new experience!

They booked for us a mixed galapagos tour consisting of a cruise of 5 days and 2 days of activities. The ship lonesome george was a catamaran which helped the sea sick on the ship, the crew was very helpful and funny. food was delicious and plenty in both variety and quantity. The snorkeling equipment was also pretty new and good. MontaniTours owner ishai recommanded that ship to us and helped with the booking of our other activities in galapgos and montanita. Also pointed us to a good agency in banos which we enjoyed. Ishai and montanitours really made our trip alot easier, safer and also more enjoyable.

I signed up for a tour with Go Montanita however, Go Montanita is a middle man that uses cooperations with Montani Tours for transportation. The driver was very nice and ride up to Parque Nacional Machalilla was smooth. Later the driver gave us two hours at Los Frailes, time enough to hike to viewpoint and back. We arrived safely back in Montanita around 5pm. The young lady that works at the office is also very nice and explains things very well in English and Spanish. In fact you might as well sign up for tours with MontaniTours because they provide the transportation anyhow. I hope you have a nice time in Montanita. Happy Travels!!!!

We arrived into Montanita Beach to relax for 2 days to over come jet lag, having been in transit for 36hrs from Perth, Australia. Had no idea how difficult it was going to be to communicate, having no spanish. We walked into Montanitours to get help with booking flights to Quito and met with Ishai. What a relief it was to find someone that not only could speak & understand English, but could speak great English. Ishai was extremely helpful & knowledgeable and pieced together our whole itinerary including flights, bus tickets, train tickets and accommodation from Montanita Beach to Guayaquil to Quito to Banos to Alausi & Devils Nose Train to Galapagos Islands and our trip from Guayaquil to Mancora Beach, Peru, without any hiccups along the way. He was constantly in contact with us along our journey to ensure we had arrived without any dramas. The service was outstanding. I can honestly say that Ishai and his help was what made our trip through Ecuador as amazing & unforgettable as it was. All we had to do was turn up on time and enjoy ourselves. Can highly recommend Ishai and Montanitours to everyone. If in doubt, contact Ishai. You won't be disappointed. Thankyou Ishai and Montanitours.......

We did an amazing day trip . We visited two amazing beaches (Ayampe, Rio Chico). The guides taught us a little surf, we ate at a good local restaurant and played volleyball. I had a really great experience booking my 4 day trip to the galapagos with Ishai.
We booked the trip literally 6 hours before we left to the airport.
Everything was taken care of, from the drivers to the tour guides and everything in-between, it was planned perfectly.

Thank you.
