Take water, snacks & wear comfortable walking shoes. The track to the cove is well worth the effort, it climbs & winds it’s way to the magical cove that steals your breath. The walk through the WW1 memorial forest is a prelude to cathedral cove...More

We were lucky to get a car park as this place is busy, after stopping at nearby Hot Water Beach. We highly recommend proper walking gear, runners etc as it is a bit of a trek. We were there after some rain and they were...More

Iconic views. A photographers must do - more than once. The walk to the Cove is 40/45 minutes. It is physically challenging for some and good shoes, even though the pathway is good, are recommended. Once there enjoy. Invariably there are people there. Sometimes many....More

We walked from Hahei, rather than driving to the car park. Glad we did, as the car park was full. It takes about 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes. The walk us hilly. Recommend sunscreen and water. We stopped at the car park for...More

A long walk to the cove but well worth it for the stunning views along the coast and surrounding islands. Due to some work on the path we had to trek through the forest and in places it was steep and muddy, very hard walking...More

Enjoyed the walk to Cathedral Cove. Managed to get a park in the top car park which was just by luck as it is very very busy. You really only get one if you get there early or someone pulls out. Walk takes about 35...More

The weather wasn't great for our walk, but at least the rain held off, the cove was lovely but I can imagine that it would be so much more so in the sunshine. Even with the inclement weather there were a lot of people there,...More

We really wanted to see the Cove without hoards of people around so decided to do the walk for sunrise and it was amazing! Its probably also worth doing it at this time as there is limited parking and it fills up quickly during the...More

Bit of a hilly walk (wear sneakers), great views and spectacular flora and fauna along the trail. Well worth the effort to get to your final destination!

The walk itself is well paved. At the end, though, is a series of stairs. You'd have to carry the pram/baby down those stairs. But the view is remarkable.

We saw the water taxi arriving at the Cove. I don't remember a jetty for the passengers to disembark. You'd need to check when you drive trough Hahei on your way to the Cove. Sorry this response is going to be too late for... More
