Nice walk

We has a lovely walk down to the cove and took some great pictures. Be sure to check tide charts before setting off!

Compared to the hole in the rock, which is very similar, I think the hole in the rock is better. However this is free. Maybe if we went in summer it would be good for a nice swim.

Very beautiful, but you need to go at low tide. 20min walk from the parking lot. Morning sun is best for pictures, I think,

We went to the hot water beach nearby and decided to have a quick look at Cathedral Cove. Very attractive beach, but you do need to be fit to get there as there are lots of stairs. Nice sand, good beach for swimming.

It was a really nice walk even though there was a lot of people. The beach was beautiful with the cliffs, big trees, nice sand and beautiful water. The waves were crazy and so fun to play in.

A 45 min walk to cathedral cove provided beautiful views even in the middle of winter. A fairly easy walk with the few minutes of stairs the only real challenge.

A few ups and downs but a fairly easy walk as the tracks have recently been updated. It was a beautiful place to have lunch at the other end. Don't go at high tide.

We arrived early in the morning on a rainy day. When we arrived there were no parking spots available, as other reviewers have explained many of the locals will let you park in their yard and it is a short hike back to the hike entrance, about five minutes. We paid about $10 US to park. The rain and the... More

A Winter visit at low tide was magnificent. The walk was 45 minutes each way, but someone younger and healthier could make it in 30 minutes each way. A beautiful walk with a very well maintained walkway. Be prepared for lots of stairs at the Cove, but they too are well maintained. The Cove has multiple warnings about falling rocks,... More

Decided to go to Cathedral Cove as my last stop in my 4 day adventure in North Island New Zealand. Like the Google pictures the view was breathtaking. If interested in going it is at min. a 40 minute walk to the cove, but it's worth it. I say that only because it was the middle of winter, and started... More
