An excellent private collection with lots of the owners family history. many vintage vehicles, machinery and household goods and appliances. Brought back some childhood memories. Came across it by accident on one of the few bad weather days of our holiday and it kept us enthralled until the weather improved. Refreshments available. Very reasonable cost per person.

A group of 12 preschoolers and 3 adults visited Museum today we thoroughly enjoyed it. We started our day with a rude in the train pulled by the old tractors kids loved it. Then we spent time looking and climbing on the tractors and Fire Engines. We then had fun feeding the horse and sheep. Thanks heaps enjoyed our visit.

Stumbled on this rare gem while heading north on highway 10. Mr Matthews has restored numerous cars and tractors,as well as old pumps and generally anything with a motor. He has a huge amount of old artefacts and history from years gone by. Well set out and definitely worth the stop. The kids can even feed the sheep in the... More

We think that there must have been a method to collect the vast and diverse range of items and this may well have been `we will have one of everything`! The sheer quantity of items from pencil sharpeners to tractors is amazing. There is literally something for everyone to relate to and to enjoy, from a 5 year old child... More

Matthew's Vintage Museum was the perfect place to stop when driving through from Russell to Cape Reinga area. The owner was super friendly, even letting my husband play the piano which was spectacular. The collection of cars, tractors, sewing machinese, sheerers, trucks, etc are quite impressive and there are a few sheeps and small ponies outside as well. Worth the... More
