Tawharanui is a unique gem 💕💕....breathtaking views, white sandy beaches, crystal waters, walks and hikes plus plenty of marine and wild life life to observe and enjoy. Fun for all ages.🐬🐬 Beware however that road leading to Tawharanui is in places very narrow and winding...More

The drive from Auckland with breathtaking rural views made the visit to Anchor Bay even more memorable. We packed a good picnic but also stopped at a winery on the way. The water was clear and arriving at high tide meant that we missed the...More

The winding road leads to this fabulous beach with good access, plenty of car parks and a magnificent beach to relax on. International visitors love this beach

This is our favourite bit of coast in this part of the world. We take visitors there, there are lots of walks through a bird sanctuary, good swimming, lots of different beaches, ands the Takahe are a great bonus

We were there for only a short period of time, but the beach was lovely. There is also a lookout (the path is a bit hidden) that had a great view - the beach on one side and the surrounding hills behind. There are also...More

We took a private tour to this park. If you are into birding this is it. We saw the bellbird, kiwi bird on a night hike, brown teal, etc. I highly recommend going to this sanctuary it is worth the drive.

We've regularly taken family buggy-boarding here. Nearly always good and safe surf for everyone. Bit of a drive but still often busy. One can pitch camp in beach or under lovely trees on grassy headland overlooking beach. A local volunteer organisation has done outstanding work...More

Tawharanui Regional Park is a beautiful place to get back to nature. There is a short drive on a gravel road, but it is well worth it - the beach is magical, the parks huge with great walks, trees etc. You can camp there or...More
