We met at the Tour Base to get outfitted with rubberized trek gear, pants, jackets and boots, because of possible bad weather. After a quick bus ride to the Glacier Park, our guide led us off the path and through the forest to show and explain the plants and trees in the area. AS we got back on the hiking... More

Jamie our guide did a fantastic job of guiding us to the glacier. He was very informative and took the time to make sure all the questions for any of the guests were answered.

On a nice sunny day you needlessly made us wear heavy boots and rain gear. Boots were totally unnecessary. Rain gear was hot. Tour started late because you can cancelled that day's helicopter flights . Why was that our problem ? Tour guide was fine but next time we will take the hike on our own.

We were a family of four who recently visited the Franz Josef Glaciers. An experience that will stay etched in our minds for its uniqueness. We did not realise that there were glaciers that were accessible at practically sea level. The walk through the temperate rain forest and on the river bed was a great experience. The ultimate moment of... More

The Glacier is a special place, and our trip was made very memorable by our guide Nick (Fish). He was engaging, informative and personable. If the other guides are as professional as he is, this is a don't miss on your vacation planning

It was about a two mile walk through the rain forest to the glacier viewing area which was about a mile away. Our guide did an excellent job of explaining the development of the forest over time as the glacier receded up the canyon. He also explained the surrounding mountain structures and how they were shaped by the glacier as... More

What better way to view the glacier from the base but through a guided hike. Ben, our guide, was fun, funny, full of information, and little mischievous. You'll learn not only all you need to know about glaciers, but also the flora we walked through on the way to the base. We even tasted some of that flora (that was... More
