My favorite place on the west coast, hands down.

They didn't used to take reservations, now they do. It used to be only known by the locals, even then, the only way to get a camp spot was to hang around between 11 am and 1 pm and swoop in when someone left, and get your tent spot on Thursday, for the weekend. Now, they do keep some sites... More

Great place to explore some tidal pools! Could spend hours there exploring! Look up a tidal chart online and visit during low tide. Would be a wonderful place for kids to explore with supervision, of course!

While we only spent a half-hour or so here, it was a great place to break up our trip around the Olympic Peninsula. The outlooks offered lovely views -- though a few others on the rocks got sprayed by waves, so just be careful! The WWII bunkers were both intriguing and creepy to explore. A bit crowded but definitely worth... More

Tide pools were non-existent when we visited perhaps due to the tide? Otherwise the campground location takes a bit of the adventure out of exploring here. Did not visit crescent beach which is right next door and there did seem to be more people there.

We stopped at Salt Creek to see the tide pools. Glad we did, it was really cool! Saw all sorts of crabs, anemones, and a star fish. Be sure to wear sturdy footwear, the fiancé was wearing sandals and had a hard time on the rocks which could be pretty slippery.

Far and away our favorite glamping site on the North Washington coast. Spend the day hiking well maintained trails, explore the tidal pools or kayak the rugged coast line. No longer a secret, you should make reservations well in advance to snag the sites with the spectacular views. Lots of wildlife so be sure to secure your grub from the... More

Great campground on the bluffs overlooking the Straight of Juan de Puca. We travel with a dog & 5th wheel. This campground had nice big shady spaces, picnic tables, fire pits & wonderful trails thru the forest & down to the water where tide pool exploring at low tide was really fun. The only reason I gave only 4 stars... More

This was a beautiful area to walk with the family. We went during low tide, so were able to reach things seemingly easier than at high tide. One thing to note: there is a dead beached sea lion on the shore. There is a sign at the entrance of the beach which gives the story and reasoning behind the State... More

Amazing County Park on the Straits, great camping, hiking and relaxing place! One of the best camping spots on the Washington Coast, really!

We stayed two nights in camp sites 66 and 67. Right off the water, views of Vancouver Island, tall trees all around. The camp sites were a bit small, but fit our tents, grills, chairs and vehicles. The beach was accessible through stairways close by, and contained rocky and sandy areas, with lovely tide pools. We enjoyed our stay. Only... More
