Beautiful visitor center. It is busy and staff are very helpful and efficient. Good selection of books, etc. I bought a puzzle of the park. Lots of parking and clean facilities. There are shaded picnic tables and easy trails to explore from the center.

Hiking, beaches, rainforest, lakes, kayaking, hot springs, camping, sunsets & lots of critters. Don’t forget the murmuring pines and hemlocks (check with Longfellow).

Nice, helpful rangers to answer questions. I especially enjoyed the cross section of the huge tree and the information shared about the different types of trees in the park.

Olympic National Park is very diverse and beautiful. There are so many things to see you need a few days to do it. You can go up to mountains, kayak on lakes and visit the furthest NW point of the US.

Make sure to stop in for information and souvenirs. This is the best visitor center in Olympic NP. There are rangers to answer questions, do talks, there's a movie about the park, gift shop, place to buy wilderness passes, nature display and of course restrooms.

We stopped by the visitor center to get some "local" ideas on 3-5 mile hikes and got great ideas from one of the Rangers. They have good maps and know the area very well. Did not go up to Hurricane Ridge as road construction was...More

You could see parts of it, but not all. Perhaps drive up to Hurricane Ridge, then drive west to Lake Crescent and the South to the rain forest. Even that would be a long day, and you would miss the Elwah Valley, Solduc and... More

There's a small shopping center Forks Outfitters on the south side of Forks that might let you stay there. There's also an RV park the Forks 101 RV Park which is across 101 from the outfitters on a side street.
