Had to do it because when we were growing up it's the only thing we ever learned about Utah, - THE GREAT SALT LAKE... There is a small marina, the visitor center is a small double wide (we did not go into it). There is...More

The visitor center there has a film about the history of the Great Salt Lake and its resorts, as well as the Kennecott Utah Copper mine. Being that the mine's visitor outlook at the pit is still not open after the landslide a few years...More

Let's face it. You just cant visit Salt Lake City without paying a visit to the Great Salt Lake. Take the time to drive out and enjoy a piece of history. You won't be disappointed!

Stopped here as this was our first visit. We were told not to expect much and we were not disappointed. There was nothing there but a few boats and a dismal visitors center. The lake is very smelly and full of bugs.

Just of of 80 across from a power plant. It’s more of a small marina than a state park. The visitor center is a small double wide. There is a viewing area and access to walk to the lake shore. Is it worth a special...More

First trip to Utah and we had to go see the Salt Lake. You actually drive into a marina, we passed a booth but it was closed so not sure about the fee other travelers talk about. We parked and upon getting out there is...More

I recall my first attempt to access the waters of the "Great Salt Lake". It was the summer of 1982. As I was making my way through the sand, I was accosted by brine flies en masse - so bad I could not proceed. Totally...More

The State Park is kind of a joke - just a parking lot by the lake with a visitor's center(trying to sell activities) You can walk out to the lake (why?) where the sand is covered with clouds of sand-flies and the sea-breeze is disgusting....More

It is a small state park with a marina. You can get exposure to the lake, wade in it or just stroll around. Our kids rented a paddle boat which was an experience! The brine flies were all over, in ears, nose, and hair. Ugh!

I'm not really sure what wildlife there is to see here. The park itself is pretty small, and other than some birds, I didn't see much of anything other than the lake while there.

Hi, huiling s. I went to Antelope Island last July. I doubt that you can get to Antelope Island by public transportation. It is about one hour and forty minutes' drive north of Salt Lake City. You have to get out to Antelope... More
