Amusing to read that at it’s completion in the 1890s this structure was massively over budget at a cost of $900,000. I don’t know if this level of detail could even be built today for $900 million.

beautiful exterior to drive by. just older offices inside so unless you have work there, just offices. It is nice on the inside, but there are better things to do with short time in SLC.

The city and County Building has a nice park and water fountain as part of its property. I would only go there for a few minutes to half an hour because there isn't much to see there with exception of the fountain, the trees, and...More

The history and architecture of the City/County building is very impressive! I also love attending the many "cultural" events held at this site - most especially the "Living Traditions" 3-day event. I would suggest that the events held at this site be advertised better (and...More

We went to see the City and County Building again when we were in Salt Lake City. City government offices are in the building. The historic and beautiful buildings were built between 1891 - 1894.

If your a fan of Richardson Romanesque architecture (think Boston) this is your building. In fact, it is really the only building in town in this style which in itself makes it remarkable. In a city with a dearth of great and notable architecture, this...More

This building was redone while I lived in Salt Lake City. It takes up a whole block with lovely old trees and lots of grass. Inside are many things to see. If you like old buildings, you'll love this one.

Our group of 30 had a private tour but there is a self-guided tour and fact sheet. The history is very interesting including the fact that it was originally built on quicksand. Lots had to be done to make it safe. We were guided into...More

We visited the outside and grounds of this lovely structure to celebrate the lives of the 49 victims of the Pulse mass shooting. The facilities were perfect for the gathering, even though it lightly rained the entire evening.
